Default 1991 Topps Redemption Cards

or the 1991 Topps master set builders, anyone have a copy of a vintage redemption card (cards with BV of $60+ were issued as redemptions) pulled from packs?

In addition to the value cards, were there not redemption cards for all the 52 to 56 cards as well, and did they also involve such reprints ?

Based on the numbering designations on the contest cards I think I am missing 3 of them

Al,you may be right about the larger 1952-56 cards? They would not fit the standard size packs! I did pull a 1970 Jerry Koosman a 1971 Luis Tiant & a 1976 Kent Tekulve cards, must have been a pitchers year for me? But I did open up over 20 to 25 boxes back then? I liked the looks of that set! Robert.

I only ever pulled a 1990 Joey Meyer... But I haven't seen those winner cards.
And I'm still missing 4 numbered cards.

That's correct, the oversized cards were issued as redemptions as well. It seems that most people working on complete sets of the contest cards are missing the same 3-5 codes/cards.

That's pretty incredible. I still actively open between 10-15 boxes a year (since 2004) and have only pulled one 1968 common in that time. The 20 or so boxes I opened at the time didn't net me one vintage card.

I agree, I have opened several cases and the only thing I ever got was one 1988 common.

I've opened approx. 100 boxes over the years and have only found a 1968 Vada Pinson #90 and a 1975 Danny Thompson #249 - never saw a redemption card.

The real question I have is would you be able to redeem the redemption card today?

Well, no. Most Topps redemptions expire 2 years after the product is released. Except last year, someone (as a lark) sent in a 1957 redemption to Topps and they supplied him with a similar gift package to the Wilson Baseball Glove he was redeeming for. You can probably find an article about it online.

Default Redemptions

It was my understanding there was a redemption card for an entire Topps run of sets, 1952-1991( the grand prize), and there were redemption cards for one each of the individual sets in the run. And then redemption cards for any card over a certain value at the time ($ 60 ? How determined ? ) plus any card from the 52 to 56 sets. No way to know exactly how many of these went in packs.

If you got one and did the redemption I assume the redemption card went back to Topps and disappeared. Never saw one myself, then or since. Still have a few unopened boxes. Still need 3 contest cards to complete what I think would be a numerical run of them
