Default Man Time

It's so ideal tonight, I felt like the need to describe it.

Day after Christmas, no obligations, no work, no creature around except for my 13-yr old faithful hound dog.

Had a couple of wonderful pints of 8% alcohol seasonal brews at the local pub, cooked up some steak and egg tacos, gave my dog the bone from the steak. About to scan a huge pile of '33 Goudeys and make some money. There's even a crappy bowl game on tonight. Life is good.

Nice summation Scott. Most of us have a lot to be thankful for, myself included. Happy holidays to you and your hound. (I love dogs)

Sounds about right Scott. I'm sitting here having a few brews, watching the third game of the 1992 World Series, with my dog Pete. Took her running yesterday so she is still tuckered out. Nice and quiet and relaxing!

I grilled steaks and watched six back to back episodes of Law & Order: Criminal Intent with my daughter who until Christmas I hadn't seen since July 4th. That's what happens when you do your job and they grow up, get a degree and a job and fly the coop. My man time was Dad time this time.

My girlfriend called me up about three years ago and said her cousin was coming to town and had two tickets for her to see him perform - some sort of artsy thing, she wasn't sure exactly what it was. Of course, I declined.

A few days before the show she reminded me that she was going to this Mystery Science something or another and looking forward to seeing her cousin Joel. I'm like, "wait a second - what exactly is this thing you're going to?" It turned out that her cousin was the creator of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and they were touring that year, doing a live version at theaters. Needless to say, I went. Joel came over the next morning and had breakfast with the family - quiet but not surprisingly, very sharp-witted and entertaining. They returned the next year and we went again, but I guess they are done with it now.
