Default An Assortment of Photos of My Collection

A boring and rainy Friday night waiting to see if my son's baseball tournament will played tomorrow or not because of weather. I started thinking that we see a predominence of autographs on this site of Ruth, DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Mantle, and last week for few posts of Satchel Paige. I started thinking what could be different to post so I dug into my collection and pulled out some to share with the site. A few are 19th century ballplayers with very few examples of their signatures in the market or available, a couple of Negro League HoFers, and one is from one of my favorite Negro Leaguers.
My selection is:
1. Tommy Bond dated with his birth year and year of signing.
2. Harry Stovey
3. George Gore
4. Anthony Mullane
5. Mike Donlin
6. C. W. Posey. The last page of a 2pg HLS of which I have the complete letter.
7. Martin Dihigo
8. Laymon Yokely. This is the exact signature used in Keating's Negro League Autograph Guide.
I hope you enjoy the product of my boredom.
Happy Collecting

Thanks for sharing. It is possible that Bond, Gore, or Donlin could one day be elected to the HOF, so they are worth holding onto. The Dihigo is also nice.

I love how you offer glimpses into your vast collection. I have been looking for a Stovey autograph, and your example is the only one I have seen ever offered in the market place in the last 10 years.

Thank you for sharing, and I hope you are willing to show more in the future.

If you ever want to know the provenance on your Mullane signature drop me a line. They came through me in 2005 and it is an interesting story how they were found and came to light. The POD card you have was one of my favorites!
