Default Limited edition baseball books: show 'em

There have been a number of limited edition baseball books. Here's Commy from 1919, with a photo of the trade edition

Here's another, the 1907 limited edition of 500, followed by a 1908 trade edition with black boards

Here's the post fot today, a 1912 gift edition of Touching Second. I know there is also a black boards edition which sold (I believe) in REA,signed by many stars for around $20k (if anyone can find that auction link, please let me know)

I don't own any baseball books of note, but I find it perplexing that they aren't more popular and valuable. I have considered purchasing some quality baseball books, but have been scared off by their lack of popularity. Why is this? Books have such a great crossover appeal in my opinion.

You can't slab them, they're not sexy, and people don't like to read. They are still collected, but the group of collectors is growing at a slow snail's pace.

Mr. Sloate

"not sexy"?

Obviously (and no doubt thankfully) you are not familiar with the 1951 book from Vixen Press, Fast Curve
