Default Blue less

I have a few of them. Unlike the 396 Blackless cards from sheets A, B and C which were print defects where the black ink ran low ( they can be found totally blackless or with gray remnants) and were distributed in packs, the blueless are likely progressive color proofs and were not released at retail

Default Blueless

Sellers who have some, one in particular, think so...or hope so. The Blackless "set" and cards used to be listed in the SCD Standard Catalog when they had post 80 listings. At one time several people including myself were building sets and prices were high. I think that have tailed off, except for star cards. They had the advantage of being cards released at retail.

I picked up a couple of blueless to keep with my set as a curiousity, and some star card collectors might pay a premium for one, but the commons do not seem to draw much interest. When the seller in question puts them out with a large BIN, they seem to sit. When he puts them in auctions with low minimums, they sell but not for huge money

Default A run of Rose cards

Not exactly "blueless" I guess (I don't really know what to call these), but here is a run of five '82 Topps Pete Rose cards. Going from left to right, you can see that they have varying degrees of ink. The last one is a regular card, just added for comparison.

All five cards have what appears to be regular/normal backs.

Sorry I couldn't fit them all on the scanner in line next to each other.

This is my only blueless 82. Refound it today when looking for another card. Without the blue ink it makes the print pattern look real funky under a loupe.

Al, not sure if I should be proud that I know who the mystery man is that you are referring to or feel ashamed that I once fell prey to his price inflation to help complete my Dodgers blackless team set, lol.

Mr. Bean once bought a blank cut piece of paper from him thinking it was a rare 1991 topps cracker jack proof!
