Default Ot: What the heck are these? Please help

A buddy of mine is selling off his sports items. We were going through his collection, and found these. What the heck are these? He believes they are from his uncle and have something to do with Harvard and Boston. He was in a fraternity in the 20's. There are emeralds in the skulls eyes.

Here are some pics. Not sure where to post this but I would appreciate help guys. This is so out of my league haha.

epsilon phi sigma --- frat pin. But that frat seems to be a mid-west frat. It could be the same letters in different order .....

The Skull and Cross bones probably a copy of Yale's secret society.

Others --- no idea.

Thanks a lot. The owner says this is original and not a copy. He insists it is from Harvard. Does this help at all?

Sigma Phi Epsilon maybe. It's symbol is a skull and crossbones in a black heart.
Also, the L.G.Balfour company was the leading producer of high quality fraternity
and sorority pins, so definitely some frat pins.
Good luck.

Yeah, it looks like a strangely reversed Sigma Phi Epsilon pin.

Maybe it was just made different?

This is a Sig Ep frat pin -

The red 23 pin is likely just for some frat achievement or designation. Maybe we have a Sig Ep on the board that can help without breaking a sacred oath of some kind.

UGHHH I am hoping... He wants to sell them but I do not want him to get ripped off either, so I figure you guys are better than a "Shop Owner" by 1000000%

I would bet the 23 stands for "1923."
