Default 52-54 Topps Binder Options...

One of the first questions I asked here was how to store and view Topps cards from 52-54. Being a set collector and a "binder" guy, I appreciated all the great box ideas and actually followed up on those. Then a few weeks ago at a small local card show a vendor was there who had a great option for the larger cards. He mentioned he thought he was the only one manufacturing these, and he custom designed them. I am not sure if that is true, but I searched EVERYWHERE online for something like this with zero luck until bumping into him.

As you can see, the sheets hold 6 cards a page, and the cards are in a top loader. There is a little notch to keep the top loaders in place so nothing "swims" around.

As a binder guy, the set is now ready to view and store, doubly protected. I am really excited by this and it's really motivated me to finish this set out. For the spots I don't have cards yet, I have put an empty top loader so the thickness of the complete set is already established, and the sheets won't sag where there is no card.

The only issue is the tallness of the binder, it doesn't fit in my shelving with my other sets. Its a fair trade off though to finally have this set in a binder and looking good.

That thickness is 250 cards. For a 52' Topps set you would probably need two binders, but for the 53 & 54 and the oversize Bowman sets they should all fit into 1. If the sheets were made into 4 pockets with the same size, you could binder up graded cards. Anyhow, thought I would share...I am pretty happy with it...

They aren't hard too hard to find, here's their site: http://www.toploaderbinder.com/

I looked into them because my entire collection is in toploaders and I wanted a way to put them in pages without removing them from the toploaders.

Unfortunately, they are way overpriced...there's no way I'm gonna spend that much on a binder and pages when I could buy more cards. I suppose they can gouge a little since they are the only ones making them - kudos to them, it's a great product, I just can't justify the cost.

Maybe ultra pro will make something comparable and bring the prices down a little. But I suppose if a collector can afford to put together a '52-'54 set then they can afford this product.

btw - I've seen them pop up on ebay from time to time from collectors who purchased them and decided they didn't like them later...you can get them slightly discounted that way.

Wow Joe...I guess I didn't think the $30 total I have invested needed me to take out a 2nd mortgage.. A normal binder is 6.99 and $14 for the sheets so I am trying to figure out how $10 more bucks on a slower moving almost custom binder is gouging? Anyway, to each his own...I'd have payed $60...this topic has come up MANY times and "this easy to find item" has never been mentioned, at least not lately or what I could find searching old posts. Like I said, just sharing...

MJ Roop made nice custom binders, but they have been discontinued for some time and are hard to find. They are really nice though!

John, I'm not poo-poo'ing your find, as I said before,I like the product, but I'm just a small fish with a modest budget so perhaps I'm out of my league on this thread. I am wondering, however, how you managed to purchase the binder and enough pages to house a standard 407 card 1952 topps set for only $30.99. The item you showed pictured is for sale at the manufacturers link I provided with a binder and 40 pages for $52. Those 40 pages only hold 240 cards so you're going to have to buy a second binder with thirty additional pages ($46) to hold that set. That's $98 to house a set. Like I said before I know you can find them discounted on ebay for about $30-35 for 30 pages but if you know a secret place to get them cheaper please share! I may actually be a buyer after all.

The prices shown on the site are postpaid and went up on Jan 27. The old price was probably a lot less.

Some manufacturers sell at MSRP on their site, but have dealer pricing. If the dealers then sell at a discounted price either to keep stuff moving or to just get rid of slow moving inventory there's usually some nice discounts to be had.

Sorry Joe...I know this is old, but I missed this. I didn't have the 1952 in binders, it was the 54s, and there is only 250 cards, so only needed 1 binder. As mentioned in the OP, I was lucky enough to buy direct from the vendor at a local show here in Washington...

I can't find my original pictures, lol, but this one I got offline shows it well. 250 cards and sheets fills the binder....I still love it.

Yes...52-56 Topps (and oversized Bowmans) fit into the 6 pagers. I put my 54s in vintage sized top loaders and they slide right in. I recommend the vintage size...they fit tight. The regular top loaders are fine, but the "swim" in the page a bit.

Sorry, full of questions. Assuming Cardsaver 1 works with Toploader binder and I bought one, Would graded cards fit in these by any chance? My stars are graded and most of my commons are raw. I struggle a little with some of my set being in a binder and the rest elsewhere.... Thoughts??
