There are so many things funny with it I don't know where to start: "I purchased this at auction in 1996..." What auction? And who professionally graded it? This guy just makes up anything he wants.

He declined my offer of $1.00.

Too bad. I would have been willing to overpay, with cash money!

(And, why are all the "good" Wagners only available with Sovereign backs?

Yea, I think if I was trying to sell a "$100,000" card, I would pay $100 for a nice scanner. Do you think these people really think this will work? I mean really.

He bought a $100,000 card as an investment but his camera is not a "good one."

Default hey...

Hey, he's just down the street from one of my fledgling restaurants in Arlington. I wonder if he would take a chicken fried steak dinner for it? (maybe with some extra gravy oozing over it!!). I think our cost on the steak itself is about 40 cents. I may want some change back.

Default $1000

If someone bought that for $1000 (and I highly doubt they did) then they might have just learned a $1000 lesson. I wish that was my most expensive one (not to make light of a grand, it's a lot of money to me)

It's professionally graded but where is the holder??? I wouldn't mind buying it and putting in with my stack of Sovereign Wagners! And to think some dope paid $1000 for a reprint!

Yep, this one was funnier than most.

I like how it was graded by SBA. Such Bullshit Authentication?

And I love the final line: "It would make a great gift to any collector."

Yes, only 70 exist, it's THE holy grail of the entire hobby that is baseball
cards, a PSA 1 will run you $200K +, and, oh yeah.... makes a great gift.

Iggyman,

From what I have heard about the Kardashian sisters, poor Honus wouldn't have a cahnce with them because he was a white athlete. Now if the card were of Lamar Odom, Reggie Bush or Miles Austin.....

I guess there is no way to verify that this really did sell for $1,000.00, is there?

It just doesn't make any sense. Can't you buy these reprint fakes for a dollar or two?

He must have bought it from himself

Really the only way to verify would be to contact the buyer after he left the seller feedback. Even then though it could be a friend of his.

No need to start yet another bogus T206 Wagner thread so submitted for your approval is this latest bit of scammery: http://tinyurl.com/2ch9rvc
THE CARD WAS IN A TOY TRUNK INSIDE AN OLD JACK IN THE BOX TOY WITH THE CLOWN OR WHAT EVER WAS IN IT THAT POPPED UP WHEN YOU TURNED THE CRANK.

A Big giveaway w these clowns to me is the fact they don't spend money to get a card authenticated.

But, the two Indian head pennies and the clown that pops up out of the toy in the trunk are good proof that this is a "period" 'Wagner.

I love how his 1977 Topps football cards are slabbed but not the Wagner.

Wasn't Ebay requiring at one time that certain cards, e.g. T206 Wagner, 52 Mantle, had to be graded in order to list?

I thought so, but to enforce such rules they would be losing listing fees and god forbid that happen...
