Check it out

Page 60 of the new SCD, Bob Lemke gives the board credit for hurting sales of the infamous "Nodgrass" variation. I for one appreciate Bob's willingness to tackle a difficult issue. Kudos brian

Now, I haven't really tracked any of the auctions closely in the past 6 months, but are the "partial S" variations still selling strong? It seems to me, anyway, that the biggest red flag for the altered ones are a lack of the entire "S". Though there are (a sparse few) legitimate ones without the S, many have at least a partial S plate coming through on the card...

"Nodgrass" is not a legitimate variation, it s a printing freak. Its value is to collectors of those kinds of things and if it garners huge sums of money, more power to its owners. Just don't call it a variation.
"Fred Snodgrass Dies at 86. Muffed flyball in 1912 Series"- this was the NY paper's head on his obituary. I still cringe when I think about it.
