Thanks. No H.M. Taylor, but I suppose eventually.... Very nice Wolverine portrait. I remember when it was on eBay. Not sure why I didn't bid. It's easily one of my favorite Cobb cards.

Great cards everybody. Jeff, that Orange Border is very cool. Also, after 10 years of collecting pre war cards, I'm just starting to really like (alot) the T206 set. Man am I slow to the party, or what? Sometimes I'm just not sure what my problem is.

Jeff L. & others - nice 1928 Yuengling's Cobb.

The picture is EXACTLY the same as my 1928 w502 Cobb (sorry, no scan, in safe deposit box).

The w502 gets the shaft with the "w" designation - supposedly the least desireable of card issues. Could it be that company X made all the Yuenglings, Yorks, W502's, etc. the SAME time in the SAME factory? But some cards got additional product script on back per distribution requests depending on where the cards were to be distributed.

Common sense says there is a tie in between companies - but nobody can say for sure - yes or no?

Steve.

I also have a Ty Cobb signed Augusta check from 1930 and a game-used 1918 baseball that was hit by Ty Cobb and pitched by Walter Johnson (nice bat markings on sweet spot) with oodles of provenance.

Joe:

I would probably only trade/sell the Wolverine portrait of Cobb if I was able to obtain the 1906-07 W601 Detroit Tigers P/C.

By the way, does anyone have the 1906-07 W601 Tigers P/C to post a scan of?

Josh, those cards are incredible for their grades (exempting the E95 which is already a high grade). Is there paper loss on the backs? The T227 looks like a 5-6.

Hey Jeff - Thanks a lot. The t227 and the e93 have small amounts of paperloss on the reverse. The t206 is undergraded. The only thing wrong with it is the miscut top to bottom. No paperloss, creases or wrinkles anywhere.

But what the hell I needed something to stress over and a nice tough set should keep me going for a while.

I grabbed this as it is listed as the 3 hardest card in the set after Jackson and Ruth.

It has a slight trim but presents really well. This is the first time I have actually bought a trimmed card as I generally stay away from them, but it looks so nice.

Thanks for the deal Matt.
