Default 1967 Topps Poster Stickers

Posted By: Dave Hornish

I have had this set as a "red herring" on my Master Topps list for years now. However, the new Standard Catalog blog has a mention of it in a Dec. 17 post. I have a 2007 Standard Catalog and it is not listed in there; did they add it for 2008? The only reference I ever saw was in an old SCD ad, maybe 7-8 years ago, which I do not have access to at the moment. Anyone have details on this? Set is supposed to look like miniature versions of the 67 posters, apparently without numbering.

It's kind of listed in the 2007 guide (same writeup as the '67 Pin-Ups):

..... At least one of the pin-ups (Clemente) has been seen in an unnumbered version printed on better-quality sticker stock and hot having fold lines.

Same think in the 2008 Catalog.

Ah, OK. I was looking for a separate listing.

If there is only 1 player, that would be odd. At some point in the past there was a set of all of Yaz's Topps cards shrunk down and put on stamps. I can only presume it was a collector issue but I got some inquiries about it from people who saw my OBC article on test issues. Still not sure what to think about the Clemente sticker. I need to find my reference....

I saw the clemente pinup sticker at a show in pittsburgh about 6 years ago
it was actually autographed...it was same size as pinup the reverse was like a blank back 63 peel off...I believe it was a real item..probably a test or prototype...
as for the 65 transfers that appear to be cloth...those appeared on ebay several years ago...however I won a couple of them and to my own thinking they were deliberately made by someone..and not a topps test or prototype

Larry,

"as for the 65 transfers that appear to be cloth...those appeared on ebay several years ago...however I won a couple of them and to my own thinking they were deliberately made by someone..and not a topps test or prototype"

I had this same thought since the name wasn't mirrored like it was on the actual transfers (i.e., it read correctly on the cloth).
