VERY GOOD+ 3.5 1952 Topps 309 Jim Busby

Most of the cards here were bought over the past year from COMC. Not too many misses.
Rather than paying $7 each to have the trimmed ones sent back to me raw, I had every card slabbed since I can use it in my Registry set as a filler until I get a graded one. Plus, it gives me something to inspect when I get back to get better at detecting alterations.

Others:
EXCELLENT-MINT 6 1950 Bowman 168 Bob Scheffing (just a good card)
VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT+ 4.5 1953 Topps 186 Charlie Bishop (GT collection)

AA: AUTHENTIC ALTERED 1953 Topps 1 Jackie Robinson

Bought raw from COMC, and will have to look at it once I get it back. It could be recolored or maybe trimmed on an edge. Still presents nicely and I will keep it.

VERY GOOD 3 1954 Topps 10 Jackie Robinson

Also bought raw from COMC in their Good to VG-EX bucket.

Congrats!!

Currently stacking up my bulk lot to send to them in the next 2-3 weeks to start my own 3 month journey. I hope to have similar success!

Here's the card that gained a full point.

1952 Topps - [Base] #98 - Billy Pierce [Encased]
Courtesy of COMC.com

I have now cracked about 20 cards out of other holders and have only damaged one; dropped from a 6 to a 4. I sent an email to Beckett and SGC to have the cert numbers removed from their registries. I was surprised to get a call 2 days later from Beckett to confirm what I was asking (maybe they don't get many requests) and said they'd take care of it.

Nice bump on the Pierce. The way many former SCD cards successfully crossed, maybe SCD grading has been unfairly maligned.

I have had good luck with the RED SCD flips. The Blue ones are about a 25% hit for me.

Yeah, these were all red flips with subgrades. You can find them on COMC in the sold listings.
