Default T206's with No Names on Front

Posted By: Don J

So how many folks out there have T206's with no names on front? I've seen many T206's that have been miscut and have partial names either on the top or on the bottom - but not many with no names at all. The Barry shown below is significantly oversized and has no indications of a name at all.

I dont have any. It seems to me (and maybe Im stating the obvious) that it must have been the top card on the sheet (explaining the lack of a partial name on top despite the miscut).

Hi,
I have one T206 of Clark Griffith without a name, and I have seen 15-20 more over the past 25 years. I also have several T213 coupons without names and here is a picture. I don't think yours is really without a name, just miscut. I have several which are also oversized, but miscut in the same area.
Be well Brian

Hi Brian, neat scans! But I must beg to differ that the T206 above is just miscut. T206's are fairly consistent in the amount of distance from the bottom line of the interior of the card to the top edge of the text. This card has more than double the average spacing with no indication of text.

Hi Don,
I have to disagee. I can post hundreds of T206's which have the captions immediately under the bottom line, and hundreds where it also floates well of the bottom of the line. I will post a few examples when I get a chance. Needless to say that the type setting and regitration are not very uniform, and that it's tough to determine where the captions really go. I also have tons of huge borders to post for comparison. Talk to you in the am. Brian

When a card does not have a name on the bottom and there is a lot of space at the top and still no name, I still think that it is just miscut. A true NNOF, in my opinion, would be the opposite -- a perfectly centered card, or wide at the bottom, with no evidence of a name. Now that would be interesting -- I wouldn't pay much more for it -- but it would still be interesting.

Lee,
When you look closely or under black light can you tell that the name was removed?
