Default 1858 Fashion Course Games 1st All Star game

Posted By: Jason Mishelow

Below are scans of a game report from the New York Times July 21 1858 detailing the Fashion Course games- a three game challenge between New york and Brooklyn Picked nines. Clearly shows how much of an event baseball was even as ear;y of 1858. On a side note does any one have any thoughs on why early newspapers are still sho cheap in relation to other baseball items of a similar age

I guess newspapers are not that appealing. They aren't visual, they're kind of large, and most information is available elsewhere. But some baseball newspapers are pretty valuable, such as the Chadwick Chronicles.
