Default Roberto Clemente rookie

What minimum Psa grade for roberto clemente rookie would you think will best retain its value long term? For example minimum Psa 4?

I guess most important for any grade is to find one well centered.

You are talking about what is, for me, the holy grail of baseball cards. Not the '52 Mantle, or the T-206 Honus Wagner...but the rookie card of "Arriba", my favorite all-time baseball player, in one of my all-time favorite sets. Looking at the '55 Clemente brings a cheshire-cat like grin to my face. And as somebody who will own one, this topic is of particular interest.

good topic,

personally I would want to be right in the 5-7 ballpark on this one. SGC 60-82, you get the idea. I don't think people are going to want to pay huge sums for 8's and 9's 10-15 yrs down the road. I know many will disagree, but that's my opinion. Anything less than a 5 would be tough to really hold a lot of value moving forward, its just not rare enough of a card.

There's a pretty nice PSA 7 on Ebay right now with an hour and 30 minutes left in the auction. It's at only $380.01.

'55 Clemente auction

I'm surprised it's that low this late in.

Oops, my bad, that's a '56. Just caught that. Nevermind.

I think any good looking Clemente rookie will do well in the future, from 50/4 to 98/10. I dont see them going down and would feel they will rise slowly in value. I do think the higher grades and nicely centered ones will go up faster.

Its one of maybe 10 mainstream Topps/Bowman cards that I think will continue to increase in value over the next 20 years vs. the 1000's that will be flat or decrease in value.
