Default 1948-50 Safe-T-Card

Posted By: Phil Garry

Can anyone confirm the existance of a Bill McGowan (Umpire) card in the above mentioned set either by a scan or having seen one in person? I realize that the card is listed in the 2008 Standard Catalogue checklist for this set.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm also trying to just see what this card looks like...I've been searching for one for over 7 years now...I'm sure the person who posted this is in the same boat!

Here's what they look like: http://www.hugginsandscott.com/cgi-bin/showitem.pl?itemid=8394

Notice the quote "This does not include the McGowan card, which is unconfirmed to exist. We consider the set complete at 67 cards"

Glen:

Thanks for the info. The disclaimer about the McGowan card was not originally part of the lot description. That is why I began this thread by asking about the McGowan card in the first place.

It does seem strange to have a set of 67 cards. With multiple subjects, it would be easy to find another person to add for a nice even number...
