Default ryan vs. rose

havent done much research but was surprised to see the ryan monetarily ahead of the rose card in the current heritage auction...

definitely fun to see them going head to head!

think it will stay that way?

Both are Pop 1's. The Ryan has more than double the PSA 9's as Rose.

However, I think the Ryan will win out for two reasons...

There seems to be more Nolan Ryan Super Collectors and the HOF RC Registry will bring in extra bidders as well.

Ryan got the better of a much younger Robin Ventura while Rose struggled with Bud Harrelson. I'll take Ryan.

Will there be a special guest referee?

I don't know how much research you can do with a pop 1 card. I voted for Ryan. I know a 9 Rose goes for quite a bit more than a 9 Ryan, but I let my personal bias decide this one. I'd rather have the Ryan, and I think he has a bigger following.

Steve's reasoning is sound. I voted for Ryan because I also want to believe that card can beat a hideous grouping of floating heads.

Neither card excites me terribly...as a kid I had 3 ryan rookies and 1 rose rookie that was torn in half. SO I always coveted the rose because I had so many ryans.

The ryan is so much easier to find in higher grade than the rose too. I think over time the rose will win out.

But I'm usually wrong!

Even better...take the combined prices of the psa 9 and 10 rose and compare to the combined ryan 9/10's.

Nolan Ryan is widely loved. Rose has been, justly, vilified by the press.

I'm taking the Ryan Express.
