Default Need Help with this Babe Ruth/Ty Cobb Ball

Hey,

I am considering purchasing this ball. It has some big HOFers on it but looks like it was chewed by a dog

Just wondering if someone knowledgable could help me with an estimated value. The big time guys are cobb, ruth, gehrig and tris speaker.. I am trying not to over pay for this item... so with that said what would be a fair price.. and what would be a good price for a buyer.. here are some pics.. thanks for the help

Can you attach larger photos? Those are way too small to give an informed opinion... thanks!

Thanks.... much better!

I'm assuming that the ball was shellacked, causing the crazing, cracking and surface chipping. I would be concerned about further deterioration, which will keep the ball's value somewhat limited.

Some amazing names to be sure, but the key signatures aren't great, with Cobb and Gehrig pretty light, and some surface chipping over Ruth and Speaker. It is tough to put a value on these "rougher" types, as some collectors are more put off by condition flaws than others. On the flipside, it is a rare opportunity to get so many legendary names on one ball.

That said (and taking the soft market into consideration), I would think its value is in the $2,800 - $3,300 range. Just a guess, having seen many other prices realized as of late... Hope this is somewhat helpful.
