Default Input on Breaking Deals on B/S/T

Just a little nervous and wanted to hear some feedback from more experienced members. I recently dropped alot of money purchasing items from a fellow board member. He has not sent any tracking, shipping info, etc. Fine, I'm ok, as he stated he is going through a rough time and needs to raise money for medical bills(Red Flag?). I offered to buy a few remaining items and the seller accepted. I then see part of the lot listed for sale in another post. I questioned this and he responded:
"there was no payment made i can sell my own items as i wish i have not done anything wrong and thank you"

My point is-I made an offer, it was accepted and we were discussing other items that I may purchase. I stated I wanted to make one payment as we concluded our dealings. I am worried now that I will actually receive my items. I made numerous payments via paypal to this seller and am confused on why all of sudden the response above......Thanks, Kyle

Here is sellers latest response:
"this is my last email i sent items you have received the other items i have not ripped you off are lied to you at all you have received the counters hats posters and i still have emails confirming that you have so there was no mis leading info and yes i have real life things to deal with more importing than fighting with u i have not shorted you anything"

File a complaint with paypal, if he cannot provide shipping info, tracking numbers to them, they will take action.

I noticed that the ball you are talking about was previously offered for sale. Did the previous deal not go through? Something is not right here. I also find it VERY tough to read the BST threads posted by that seller. Maybe use a "period" in your sentences from time to time? oriolesbb6, I wonder if you're dealing with a kid. The seller does have some nice stuff though!

Default Deal

I guess my offer was forgotten? Thats my confusion I guess-I made an offer-seller accepted via email. We were discussing what else he was selling and I was going to make final payment. Then I heard nothing from him-also his PM box was full.
Please note, I have sent over 7 paypal purchases to this seller. He has provided no tracking nor further shipping information.
I did receive a package of 4 counters-I made an offer on 5. When I questioned him he stated that one had been sold already????I clearly marked in my paypal payment that it was for 5 counters. He had 5 listed-after I questioned him-he said one had been sold. Hence my concerns...
He has now threatened me via email and said he will contact Leon? Oh well, lesson learned. Thanks to all those who have offered items for sale and completed transactions.

Sorry to hear about this...

Just FWIW, I have had dozens of dealings on the B/S/T (both buying and selling) and have never encountered an issue. It's still a great place to buy, sell and/or trade.

Hope this doesn't sour people on using it... I guess I'm just trying to say that this is a pretty rare occurance- and is the exception, rather than the "norm".

Regardless, I hope you're able to get this resolved. I've enjoyed our problem-free transactions, and appreciate all of your recent business

Default Oh Well

As a courtesy I have not included the threats/childish name calling via email in their entirety. Quite amusing. I'll let paypal handle it. I requested to return some of the items I received because I doubt their authenticity and again I was met with threats and name calling-that says it all....

Don't know why so many fear mentioning seller by name... Thus, If you're talking about Bryson22, I'd like to add.

Though he comes off a bit aloof online, Ive had three outstanding transactions with him. Fair pricing, rare and unusual items, very fast shipping, good packaging and exactly as described.

I know nothing about his personal issues, though did speak on topic to him via phone two weeks ago. He is personable, knowledgeable and imo, genuine.

If he is having family/medical issues, that explains it. He's dumping some no doubt "special" items. I say, cut the guy some slack and Im sure things will work out.

I'd hate to think that a member here is just very impatient for delvery or worse, taking advantage of a PayPal loophole... Incidentally, out of the dozens of transactions on the BST over the past five years., Every one has been flawless and only one fellow was a pompous ahole -the subject of which I'm often considered an expert on.

I understand Bryson22 had many favorable transactions here... Besides the OP, It'd be interesting to see some others' post here regarding any negative issues on their deals with Coyte "Bryson22". Problems like this taints the BST

Default the part I hate ....

This is the part of moderating I don't care for; getting in the middle of stuff. All I have to go on is what is supplied to me and a history of a members posts/threads. I have spoken, on the phone, to both parties today. I trust both of them but obviously something is awry. The seller didn't send delivery confirmation, or tracking, which are both big no-no's. However, even with one, or the other, it doesn't mean that what was supposed to be in the package(s), was. If this ends up being a "he said, she said" and both parties are believable, then I am stuck at what to do, except nothing. I am privy to some emails already so we shall see where this goes. Yes, the seller could use a little better punctuation but he isn't a kid and has done a lot of good transactions lately.

Also, the original poster of this thread posted some private correspondence in the BST posts and that, in and of itself, is prohibited on the board. For what was posted I don't see anything more than a polite reminder being needed. If nothing gets worked out then I guess the members will have to go the legal and/or paypal dispute route. And to reiterate what others have said, this is a rare occurrence. I doubt I have to get involved in more than 1 BST situation every several months. That being said please remember it is always caveat emptor. regards

Leon - I purchased a few items from this seller and while communication was a bit slow I did receive all of them just as described. Did you or one of the other moderators combine all of the threads the seller had posted in the BST section? I know there were many postcard threads as well as the counters, Cardinals stuff etc. Shortly after I agreed to take a few of the postcards and a counter all of those threads were combined into one massive thread.

I understand that section of the BST was becoming a bit unwieldy but I think this may have led to some of the confusion. It was hard to tell which posts were responses to which threads.

Default good deals

Bryson22 sold me about 60 stadium postcards which arrived without incident and are an excellent addition to our collection. Actually emailed him again asking if he had any other postcards for sale. Would do business with again.

Sounds like miscommunication between the buyer and seller rather than an outright attempt to defraud. I'd let the folks at paypal handle this one.

Many times I won't go into a certain BST area for quite a while. Another board member had alerted me that there were a LOT of individual threads started by Bryson and it was annoying. Bryson and I exchanged a few emails, spoke on the phone and yes, I did combine many of them. If I look down a page and the same poster has over 20 of the 30 threads, then something needs to happen, so I did do it and let Bryson know to consolidate them a little better in the future....It could have led to some confusion but not enough that something should have gone wrong, if there were good communications on all ends. regards

Just to make it clear, I totally understand why you combined the threads - there were A LOT! I purchased one of the balls/strikes counters from this seller and I believe he marked it as sold but that was lost in the shuffle when everything was combined. That said, he should have notified the other buyer of the remaining counters that one of them was no longer available.

As everyone else (myself included) who dealt this with this seller received their items I have a feeling any error was a mistake or miscommunication. I don't think any deception was involved.

That is a no-brainer and if 5 were paid for and 4 delivered, I am 100% sure that a partial refund will be given. The issue might get stickier with some other things going on...we shall see.....

Please note that seller has agreed to Refund purchase for counters. Remaining items have been reportedly sent via USPS 1st class postage. I will keep you posted upon arrival and thank you for all your input and concern.

Oriolesbb6, aka Robert/Kyle.. What did the mailman bring today?

Coyte, Sorry this happened. I hope you reconsider using this board. Everyone knows that Paypal is severly flawed and can be a buyers free lunch.

Too bad, He has other great items he's trying to sell... fwiw, Money orders and checks wouldn't be a problem for me.

I never have problems like this because I have a strict policy against dealing with sellers who don't use punctuation in thier communications

That's awfully hypocritical, Mike... especially considering that smiley face at the end of your sentence doesn't exactly qualify as a period. I think you could have inserted a comma somewhere in your sentence as well.

Just giving you crap.... you're one of the best writers on here. I agree... that tirade above was very hard to labor through. In fact I gave up about half-way. I'm getting much less tolerant as I get old!

Just wanted to put in a good word for Kyle/Robert (his tag here says Kyle, but the deliveries are sent to Robert).

He has consistently been one of the easiest and very best forum members to deal with on Net54. A number of my recent BST items have gone to him, always with quick pay and never a hint of a problem or complaint. I hope (for his sake) that this gets rectified in a timely manner.

BST deals are like gambling debts--no practical way to enforce them but a gentleman abides by his.

Just wanted to say my last item from Coyte arrived today. It was post marked January 26, so it took some time getting here, but it arrived safely. I bought 6 or 7 lots/items from Coyte and all arrived fine.
