Default Bill Hongach Signed Photos?

Back in the 1970s, I'm thinking between 1976-1979 Bill Hongach, erstwhile Yankees batboy and budding entrepreneur, sold signed photos of Hall of Famers and stars printed on Kodak photo paper. Most were copies of old photos, some seemed like they were printed from original negatives.

If I recall he would sell them in "series" like baseball cards.

Hongach later became more famous, or maybe infamous as the behind the scenes brains of Renata Galasso, Inc aka the World's Most Beautiful Sports Card Dealer.

I don't have them in hand, but going through my stuff it jogged my memory that I might still have a few of these.

Do any of you remember these signed photos, and more importantly, were they legit or forgeries? This was long before Operation Bullpen but there were other forgers at work back then too. If I come across any I'll post scans.

OK, came across three of the Hongach photos. The photos are printed on Kodak photo paper, appear to be photographic copies of other photos. As I stated in my previous posts, Hongach sold these by "subscription", you could by a group of autographed photos, I don't remember exactly how many came in each "set".

I noticed the first post had lot of views...no one else remembers these? Or am I seriously the oldest old fart here?

Here are scans of the photos. The signatures are not in Sharpie. They are likely in felt tip pen. Flair was a popular type of felt tipped pen I used to get a lot of my stuff signed back in my IP days.

I can't believe that the Bunning and Gehringer are fake. Not sure about the Mantle. When passing judgement keep in mind these were from the mid-1970s, long before signing for cash or autograph shows.

I just came across this old post. Is Bill Hongach legit as a seller? From what I've read, he definately has a history in the hobby.

I remember these it seem there was a jim palmer, pie traynor, bill terry and perhaps a frankie frisch among others. 35 plus years and a couple of long distance moves, i don't know where mine went. i was too young and dumb to know if they were forgeries or not.
