Default Thoughts on this Willie Mays autograph?

I am definitely not an expert in Mays so I thought I would see what the experts have to say.

Not knocking the other guessers, but I have never seen one signed quite like that. Compare it to actual graded ones on Ebay that have been deemed real. Notice the differences. That way you can save yourself the grading fee.

There's nothing wrong with different opinions, but for this Mays example it would make sense for those who disagree with Bobby to provide an authentic example that looks like the one the OP posted.

I've seen that done with Ruth autographs and it can be a real learning experience, as often the examples provided for comparison really looks nothing like the original example, or to a real one, to those who really know the player's signature. Not saying that's the case here, as I don't know modern Mays autographs, but...

Let's see them.

This is an earlier version of his autograph. You can't compare in to the more recent ones.

Joseph, you can compare it to authentic ones from the same era. If you have no idea what era it's from, then you can do a little research and figure it out. If you can't find any examples that look similar, then you have your answer.

Also, it's not that early. When I say "early" for Mays, I'm talking 1950's.

Mays early autographs, you could at least read his name. His later year autograph, looks like japanese hieroglyphics. This signature the OP question is obviously trying to look like the later years, however, the W doesn't look like any I have seen before.
