Awesome Wagner Larry. Question- is the Wagner picture not the same exact one (except uniform) as the e91 tinker?

Great year for collecting. T205 Cubs front/reverse set is now at 144/151 posible card. Remaining cards are tough or expensive so hope to add a coule of cards next year.
Also sold my W572 strip set of 106/121 cards through Heritage. Still have a complete uncut strip as a keepsake. Probably less money spent on Ebay as I do not plan on starting another project. But who knows when the bug will bite.

I always love looking at past "goals" thread to see how my interests have evolved over time. Here is last year's thread to help remind everyone.
Here were my 2017 goals, per that thread: (1) Finish my T209-1 set (currently 15/16). Achieved - I finally picked up a McGeehan and completed my first prewar set! (2) Add 2-4 more N28 or N162 baseball players. Achieved - I picked up N28 Caruthers and Comiskey, and N162 Andrews. (3) Add 10-20 cards to my T205 set (currently 77/208). Achieved - I added 26 cards, including 2 HOFers and 3 SP/Variations. Now at 103/208. (4) Add a reasonable amount of cards to my other sets without going completely overboard. Mostly Achieved, although "going completely overboard" is subject to some interpretation. I picked up 30 E92-family cards, which are my new hobby love. However, I made very little progress on my E121, 1934 Goudey, and 1953 Bowman sets, which are now firmly on the backburner. (5) DON'T CARRY A PAYPAL CREDIT BALANCE! Achieved!...although it took me well into the year to get to this point. In addition to these, one of my big achievements of the year was to deal with how I collect modern cards. (Skip ahead ye who hate shiny things.) Although prewar is my main focus, I do like collecting some modern cards to keep me connected to the modern game. However, I was getting overrun with volume, and my collection was completely directionless. I ended up selling 99% of my cards, and decided to focus exclusively on Bowman Chrome & Topps Chrome blue refractors of star players' prospect and RC cards. I have about 60 cards in this collection at the moment, and am very happy to have narrowed my focus there. My top five collecting goals for 2018 will be - (1) Add one more N28 and one more N162. (2) Add 15-20 more T205s, hopefully including Cobb, WaJo, or Young. (3) Add 15-20 more E92-family cards, including at least one new back. (4) Add 20 more modern prospect/RC blue refractors. (5) Save more money and spend less on cards (the hardest goal, of course). Happy collecting to everyone in 2018!

For 2017:
1. Work to finish 1934 Goudey. Got to 95/96. Still need the blue Lou. 2. Have a come to Jesus meeting with myself on what to collect next. T205 is calling my name, but I want to pare down my collection first to make space/funds for it. Got to 35 ish T205s before shifting focus. Now actively working 1969 Topps and 1953 Bowman. 3. Break the grip that my old commons have on me from the 80s and find them another home. Done. Otis got the cream, and little leaguers got the rest. 4. Write at least one more player bio for SABR. Contributed to two SABR books, one of which published in 2017. For 2018: 1. Finish 69T. 2. Buy a 53B Mantle. Work on the set a little. 3. Buy cards I like from sets I'll never finish. I've always wanted a Shigeo Nagashima card! 4. Have fun.

Here's a link to last year's list for those who want to play along. I know I always enjoy looking back at mine and seeing how I did, and what unexpected turns my collecting took over the year.
http://www.net54baseball.com/showthr...60#post1610760 My goals for 2017: 1. Finish my Obak slogan run Done! 2. '41 PB - get at least one of Teddy or Joe, if not both Got Joe, still looking for Teddy 3. Get to 40% on my T205 base set (currently at 27%) I've come to a grinding halt on this set - will circle back at some point 4. Add two T3 HOFers to my set to get me to 50% (currently at 48/100) Added Bresnahan and Matty 5. NOT START ANY MORE SETS!!! I somehow managed to accomplish this, which was my major feat for 2017 Goals for 2018: 1. Get my PB Williams for completion 2. '37 Goudey Thum Movie Medick for completion 3. Pick up 4 Diamond Stars Hi #'s (currently have 1/12) 4. Add five T3s to my set 5. NOT START ANY MORE SETS!!!

Very good collecting year!
After having a down year in 2016, 2017 started out with a bang for me. I had a very solid collecting year for 2017.
In January, I added a large photo of Claude Berry, which originated from his estate. The photo was the source photo used in his 1912 Home Run Kisses card. I added a couple of colored S74 silks in January and February of Red Dooin and Bill Bergen, respectively. I have been slowly working on a project showing all of the catchers that have both a colored S74s silk and a T205. Need just a couple of S74 silks to complete my run of catchers in the colored S74 set, namely Peaches Graham and Admiral Schlei. They are on my 2018 wantlist. In March, I picked up a Peaches Graham E90-1 for an incredible price. In April, I picked up an Ade Thoss T210-6 to complete my run of catchers "wearing chest protectors" in the T210 Old Mill set. May's highlight was picking up a Chief Meyers art photo. Picked up quite a few of the catchers in the P2 pin set this year, and also added a bunch of T205. In addition, I added a super nice BF2 of Chief Meyers in November. Modest goals for 2018: Looking to add a few S74 catcher silks, a few T202 Chief Meyers Triple Folders, perhaps a T207 Irving Lewis. In 2016 I hoped to get at least two of my 7 "B List" Old Judge players in 2017.
Through great fortune I managed to land an "A List" player (Jordan) and two "B List" players (Sowders and Davis) as well as a bonus HOFer (Duffy). There are still 10 players on my "A List" and 5 players on my "B List," but almost all of them now are pipe dreams. I'll consider myself extremely lucky in 2018 to knock off two "B List" players in the coming 12 months, but I'll even settle for a couple of nice commons these days. |

2017 Goals for 1952 topps signed set
*I'd like to add two new signed HOF'ers, and add 10 or so others was not able to add any HOF cards sell the duplicates and cards that dont fit my goals! sold a few, but bought a ton I did add about 15 more, all tough names, including zoldak who passed in 66 and is very tough. 1/2 graded though mine is badly trimmed. I'm Down to just 31 cards for completion 2018 goals Add 5 new cards including one hofer Sell duplicates and others in my sell pile Down to just 2 low numbers to finish 1-310 but prices have been astronomical. I'll take adding any new 5 examples as a win!
