Default What's your favorite non-portrait T206?

I'm going with Wilhelm (with bat). Just classic.

Leifield pitching pose is by far my favorite. About 11 years ago I looked for the nicest one I could find, found one that looks Mint but is ungraded with deep colors. I put together a set that is probably vg+ for most common cards but I spent $110 circa 2000 dollars to get the nicest Leifield I could, probably over 3x the amount I spent on any other common back then

It would be hard to narrow it down to 10, but these two would certainly be in my top 10.

Thanks guys. I really can't disagree with any of there. Two others I like as my favorites were Matty (black cap) and this Tinker card:

Default I'm afraid Leifield Pitching is king

[QUOTE=z28jd;955685]Leifield pitching pose is by far my favorite. About 11 years ago I looked for the nicest one I could find, found one that looks Mint but is ungraded with deep colors.

John beat me to it...the Leifield pitching has always been a favorite. Not only does it feature a classic pitching pose and wonderful artwork, but I have always been a sucker for cards with turbulent, blazing sunsets. This card has it all for me. Here is a scan of one that I pulled from ebay.

Default my favorites

You guys are right, the Leifield pitching is pretty sweet.

My favorites right are Harry Lord and Rudy Hulswitt. Lord looks like he just jacked one out of the park and is admiring it. The Hulswitt has great detail and is real colorful...and the uniform is great!

I'll go with peculiarity determining favorites.

Spike Shannon looks like a Dick Tracy character. Maybe Granite Face or Shoulderless Man.

Purtell was apparently built like a chimpanzee.

And I've always thought of this Marquard as being the "Creepy Guy Lurking Near a Playground" pose.

(images lifted from T206 Resource as I was too lazy to scan my own)

heh heh, I normally don't bump older topics like this, but....

I was trying to remember a certain T206 for this thread at the time it was current, but I couldn't recall the player's name. I finally saw his card the other day in a catalog and just wanted to add it to the list of cool non-portrait T206's... the batting pose of Wid Conroy (not my card, btw)

Default fav.

I have the Conlon original Lee tannehill throwing framed along with my fav.T206
Tannehill (no L)--- a perfect match.
The casual way he appears to be 'tossing' the ball always catches my eye.
best,
barry
