Last year I missed the opening round and had to play catch-up the rest of the way! (--and I didn't, by the way)

Let's start this year w/ some points!

Going w/:

Cincy to top Houston &
Green Bay at home
Indy to spoil Ray Lewis last game and
RGIII (Wash) to send Seattle on a long plane ride home.

Default Playoff Pool Update

8 hours to go until the contest closes to first round entries at 3:30 EST.

Only 11 out of 16 permutations of possible outcomes have been selected. Therefore it is possible that none of the 55 entrants so far will get four points in the first round.

Net 54 favorites are HOUSTON, GREEN BAY, BALTIMORE & SEATTLE, a combination favored by 14 entrants.

Let's get ready to rumble.

Default Entries closed for Wild Card games

58 entrants for the wild card round.

I will accept additional entries for next week's round of games, but anyone who is not currently entered will likely be 4 points behind if they are not already in the game.

I think it might be just a bit too late Given how the Skins/Seahawks game is looking so far. 5 of us(assuming my count is correct) are in pretty good shape to go 4 for 4 in the Wild-card round.. And 2 points better than I did in the entire pool last year

Yeah, I guess I spoke too soon before I gotta wonder what the Skins were thinking. Even before that bad snap and RG3 collapse, he looked absolutely terrible. He clearly wasn't healthy. Cousins should've been in a lot earlier. Also, I don't think I've ever seen that many bad snaps. It seems like every other one was coming out low or just flat-out off target.

I'm definitely rooting for Seattle the rest of the way. I'm a Bears fan, and hate the Packers, so that's easy... Aside from that, when I was younger, I played baseball with a kid named Chris Maragos who ended up walking on at Wisconsin and made the football team, and then signed as an undrafted free agent in 2010 with the 49ers - and now is with the Seahawks.

I wish I would have seen this before the games started!

Just for fun, I'll pick the winners for this week:

New England Patriots
Denver
Green Bay Packers
Seattle Seahawks

Some storylines that I think we'll all be hearing:

Oh no! We made a mistake with Kaepernick! (After he is intercepted multiple times, and faces pressure he isn't used to.)

Atlanta can't win a playoff game.

Default Tie Breaker explained

There's is a tie breaker over/under contest for the Super Bowl. Closest guess to the total points in the Super Bowl wins the whole shirt.

Duplicate guesses in this round will not be allowed.

Only those with a chance of winning, who will be identified in advance, will be entered in the over/under event.

If this doesn't break the tie (one entrant 2 points over and one entrant 2 points under), I guess we'll have to split the shirt. Over gets the left side and Under gets the right side.

Oh well, 3 out of 4 - I should lose a point for not realizing that the Bengals haven't won a road playoff game since.....ever.

That should work. It's better then my solution of a three day battle royale.
