Default Post your "Quote" about this neat card

I was looking at the Paragon Auction site and was enamored by the BG Matty card. It struck me as funny and astounding at the same time. I think I found out why Matty won so many games. He was a "Gangsta." So I will start it off:

McGraw--"You go pose for your picture Christi and I will take care of our competition Mr. Plank for you"

Would love to hear yours.....................

BTW this is not my card and is at Paragon Auctions in their auction. Just incase the pic is to small

Im too used to the Boston Garter cards, Ive seen them all many times in scans

It would be a strange card to show a noncollector though, especially if you tell them the value.

Maybe I am the only one that sees the guy in the background taking a bat to that guys head. Looks that way anyways

I was thinking the same thing...A lot of nice stuff here. I don't see any owners listed on the "About Us" section of their website.

Since they are advertising on Net54baseball I do know who the owner is. I am not sure it matters but I don't want to say who it is publicly. I don't know him/them personally but I heard they have been in the hobby a long time. If anyone wants to know they can email me at leonl@flash.net and I will tell them... but would appreciate it not being made public as I haven't cleared it with them. I doubt it would be a problem but I respect folks privacy....regards

Good eyes, Andrew. I'd never noticed the player getting beaten to death in the background of that card.

Leon- why on earth would you, or the owner, not want to make his name known? Is that good business?

"High bid of almost 42K and still hasn't hit reserve!" is the first quote that comes to mind for me about this card...

Paragon Auctions even sent me an email signed by Keith Vari, so it can't be too much of a secret.
On a different note, the auction description says "The rarity of this offered item cannot be understated ..." Does that make sense? Shouldn't it be "cannot be overstated" ? Barry S , you're the expert here I think.

You're right Dave, it should be "overstated." Just a mistake, I guess.
