Default Someone on NET54 did me a REALLY NICE favor

Just wanted to share a story. Ive been working on an M116 cubs team set for about 4 years now. I have a VERY low budget so Ive been getting them in low grade but still it has been a nearly impossible feat. I decided to do this after finding an extremely rare Cubs envelope (very lucky find).
Anyways, ive had the hardest time finding Mordecai Brown and Harry Steinfeldt. After posting last week looking for one, MIKE ELLIS contacted me that he had a Steinfeldt and would basically GIVE it to me for anything I had. Well we did a trade and needless to say I AM SUPER HAPPY to have a Steinfeldt now (and a beauty to boot!).
Just wanted to share a great collecting experience on here from a fellow member and give Mr. Ellis some proper credit. I posted some subpar photos of the team set that is only missing the pastel Mordecai Brown. For a cheapie collector myself, this is a pretty big deal. thanks again Mike!!!

Very nice gesture! Is the piece in the middle the envelope you mentioned? If so, that makes quite the centerpiece for the team set. Good luck with the Brown!

Great post, great story. Thanks for the photos. And that's an inspired collecting strategy. There's still a bit of good in this old hobby. Mike Ellis is The Man.

Thanks and yes, thats the cubs envelope. our very own Rhett yeakley sold it to me about 4 years ago. Ironically its the only team set envelope Ive ever seen for sale individually. I was thinking about starting an m116 cubs set so i did a search and came across Rhett selling this one. Pretty remarkable really! I dont have much cash so my strategy has been team sets rather then full sets. Its worked out really well so far and comes highly recommended

Nice story Sean, and a great gesture by Mike. It is nice the see that proper cards get in the proper collection.
