Default Zeenuts

I want to learn more about these. I have done some Google searches, and I know they were produced over a period from 1911 to 1938. I looked at oldcardboard.com but didn't see just a ton of detail about them. I guess I want to be able to ascertain which year(s) might be doable for a collector on a budget. If someone could point me in the right direction to do some reading about the Zeenut sets, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

If you don't have it yet you should get Lew Lipset's Encyclopedia of Baseball Cards, versions 1-3 (usually found in 1 volume). There is a lot of info there. There are severa Z collectors on the board so maybe one will chime in. Good luck...

I'll chime in and say you can't go wrong with any zeenut card with the coupon being attached. It's 100 times more rare and only carries a 10 times multiplier if that from the regular zeenut.

Plus, TPGs are screwed up when grading them. They actually give a numerical grade to a zeenut that has the coupon cut away and they grade the cut cards just like a card with the coupon still attached. So, you shouldn't spend much time on the VCP or Registry.
