Default Mickey Mantle Signed

This is the first time I've inquired about an autograph. I really don't collect autographs except for Brooks Robinson. Ii'm not an expert on Mickey Mantle but I know there are some individuals on this form that are. Hopefully you can help me with this example.

Thanks so much!

It's a great example of a Mickey Mantle autograph signed by Greg Marino.

Steve,
Are you willing to share any additional info? The M's look bad to me and it appears to lack flow, but the formation of both names looks pretty good. Not knowing for sure, I would not have commented. I am interested in what you and Chris would be willing to share. I know this not recommended for the public forum, but either publicly or privately I would appreciate it. Thanks, Jason

Marino's Mantles stick out like a sore thumb once you identify the "look."

For example, note the straight up and down lines and lack of any slant. His Ms have pointy tops and an almost perfectly vertical post, which is completely atypical.

Here is another Marino Mantle for comparison: http://www.operationbullpen.com/gallery1.html

He got a little better later in his forging career, but still left his fingerprints making them easily identifiable.

It's all about formation, etc.

My eyes are so trained, that 99.99% of the sigs I look at I can opine in a few seconds.

I have what they call an "Abstract IQ" and that allows me to see things that most others don't.

Approximately 20% of the population have an "Abstract IQ" and I believe it assists me immensely when opining on autographs.
