Default Funny 1934 Pittsburgh Pirates Ad in Paper

Stumbled across this while looking for something else. I didn't know teams put ads in the paper looking for players, kinda funny. Be fun these days to see that in a newspaper, "honey I'm going to head over to Wrigley today and tryout for the Cubs"

I know the Cincinnati Reds held open tryouts and took out ads in newspapers as late as the late 1970s.

Obviously the Post-Gazette didn't have a sarcasm font.

The Twins have been having these sorts of amateur tryouts for decades. To date they've signed 3 players from them: Charlie Walters, Jerry Terrell, and Gary Serum.
