The back (at least what can be made out on the bottom) doesn't look like a Goudey or a WWG...

I think it is a reprint that has been soaked in tea, then worn a bit, probably rubbed on bluejeans, or some such. That's what I think it is.

But Frank, he said he found it in his really old grandfather's attic! Plus, he has 100% feedback. Are you suggesting his grandfather was a counter fitter?

I'm from CT and been to the "Elephants Trunk" Flea Market and have seen this card personally and several others, which are all reprints. the seller has a sport kings cobb reprint, 1914/15 cracker-jack Honus Wagner, and several other commonly found related reprints. There in "Vintage" condition (rounded corners, banged up, possible tea-bagging?,creasing) but the gloss and printing are so out of whack. Just trying to help guys.

I agree with Frank. These appear intentionally aged -soaked then ? coated with poly. Also, I'm no T205 guy, but the Cobb is suspect.

The Mantle, a lousy photo, but may be legit.

They'll all be on display at a Connecticut tag sale this weekend!

Then my only question is, why would someone making a Goudey reprint word the back differently then the original? I understand maybe adding the word "reprint" or changing the font; but why make random changes like adding a line about "The World's Greatest Pe?? Value?"

The back pictured is not from the 1933 Goudey baseball set. It is from the 1933 Goudey Indian Gum set (R73). The slogan is "The World's Greatest Penny Value." The line above it that reads "XXXXXX GUM" actually says INDIAN GUM.

It's a hybrid, bad looking fake.

(Edited for poor spelling.)

I knew even that tiny part of the back didn't look right.

And did you see how he spelled "shellac"? On spelling alone I'd give him the boot!

are all 3 of his auctions fakes....? Hard to tell, for me, on the Cobb and Mantle..I would say the Cobb is fake but I don't know the Bowmans that well and it looks sort of real..

leon - this is where ebay policy is dumb; if you are selling multiple fakes you should get shut down; anything else you are selling should be ended since once you're crooked who knows what you're selling.
