Default Question for those who use binders

Do any of you guys first place your cards into soft sleeves before placing them into pages? I have seen a mention or two of that in some old threads, but I really didn't see any consensus. Thanks!

I do not...never occurred to me to do that though I do use penny sleeves before putting in top loafers.

I never thought of it either, Matt. I saw it mentioned somewhere and began to wonder. I have had zero problems not using them. Just curious. ...

I only use them for odd size cards when I can't find proper size pages, it keeps them from moving around in the pocket.

I’ve done this since I was a kid but I’m not really a binder guy. I hated binders because they lady my cards exposed. So I started putting them penny sleeves first.one day my cat chewed a bunch of my cards . I only have a few cards in binders now .

I actually have mine in soft sleeves, then in top loaders, then in binder pages, then in a binder. Protection times 4.

I bought specially made black leather binders from a fellow net54er a few years ago who only had a few left. They were made with offset rings, that held pages that were only 2 cards wide and 3 cards high so the extra weight on the pages wouldn't be an issue The pages were also specially made so they held top loaders in nice and tight.

They are a thing of beauty and wish I could get more. I have my 1951 Bowman Set in three binders. I also have my 1952-1969 Topps Yankees run in 5 more. And lastly my 1957 Topps set in 3 binders.

I like to look at them page by page and also was worried about corners getting damaged, cards warping etc.

And any high end cards are slabbed and stored elsewhere. I simply put a reprint in the binders in their place.

Absolutely. I put them into either Card Saver I's or mylar sleeves then into 4 pocket pages. Looks nice, easy to go through, no exposed edges or corners.
