Since the other thread "Classified Ads" got cluttered, please use this thread for what I called classified ads in the previous post.

Just in case anybody new ever reads this thread:

I am looking to buy an Old Judge card of Bid McPhee that is gradable by PSA (untrimmed, uncolored, not rebacked). I don't care what the grade would be, just that the card is authentic. THANKS!

Always looking for 19th Century material, mostly 1860's-1880's.

Also buying and trading Old Baseball Memorabilia/Cards Auction Catalogs, from major and small sales, including SCD auction inserts.

Hey all,

I heavily collect Elmer Flick material and I am also trying to put together the entire T-206 set in vg+ to ex+ condition (no creases) less the Magie, Wagner, Plank, and Doyle. I am also looking for one of each of the advertising backs and need 6 or 7 more. I have a current "most wanted" list on my web site at:

http://www.piedmontcards.homestead.com

I need about 340 cards total for the set, of which all but 3 are commons, southern leaguers, and minor stars. Also,

I have for sale on my site some T-206 duplicates including HOFers), a nice T-9 Turkey Red James Jeffries (boxer), a decent N-28 John Montgomery Ward, and an occasional T-202, T-205 and T-207. I can work with you a little on the prices.

Eric

Boxing cards, pre WWII. I'm looking for high grade cards (preferably SGC or PSA certified) of the more common sets, and type and specific boxers from the more difficult sets, down to any cards at all from the rare N sets. warshawlaw@aol.com

I also need help ID'ing a 19th Century cabinet. I was told that the person depicted was a ballplayer and the face is kind of familiar, but the photographer's stamp on the back has faded almost entirely. Anyone who wants to take a shot at it, please contact me so I can email a scan. Thanks.

Currently, at the top of my want list are non-sports cards from the Celebrated American Indian Chiefs (N2 and large size N36) made by Allen & Ginter. I am also interested in the Philadelphia Caramel Indian cards (back says Phila Cara Co) and Wild West Gum by Dockman and Sons.

Baseball cards, I am mostly looking for any caramel cards. Only requirment is that they not look like that Ruth on eBay I prefer cards with honest wear over NM examples.

After I get settle in MN I will probably start working on my player set. That is one card of every major leaguer that appeared on a card from 1908 (have to avoid those damnable e107s) to 1941.

I am an avid buyer of quality 20th century original photographs of major leaguers, everything from Ty Cobb to Willie Mays to Tom Seaver to quality photos of common players. This includes cabinet cards and fancy display photos taken by famous photographers, to Kodak snapshots removed from a family album. I am particularly fond of unique/unusual styles.

The Indian Chiefs have taken over my collection and are running out the baseball players. I am going to be putting my t207s on eBay, but will give you guys first shot. Sorry, nothing here for you guys that need those hard to find ones, just a bunch of decent looking, fairly easy to find commons.

no reasonable offer refused. Don't let Kit Young beat ya to them

The editing was only done to eliminate the scan, so the thread would read easier. Please e-mail Jay to get his scans.

I have a very scarce T205 Hindu (Leifield) for sale or trade. Scans of the card are on my website here. The card is in decent shape, with a number of dimples (?) on the front surface and a stained-but-legible back.

I don't have a firm price in mind, but it will be more affordable than the one that just sold in Lew Lipset's auction. I would consider trades for T204's, T222's, T207's or other cards I'm looking for. Please email me if you interested.

Bill

Hi I know there not vintage, but the set is still popular. I have purchased a house and raising money for a down payment so I have started breaking up my 57 Topps set. Some of the HOFers are on ebay. If you have any needs let me know. If you are looking to buy some to resell, you probably won't be interested. All I am looking for is a fair price. Most cards grade EX/NMt or better, grades do very.

Best to all

Lee

I've got a 1909 T212 Chick Gandil for sale or trade... I "sold" it on eBay about a month ago for $252, but the buyer never sent payment despite repeated promises to do so. BTW - this card has been trimmed... email me for a detailed description.

I would be interested in selling it for this price, or trading it for 1911 Obaks, 1910 150 series Obaks and/or Seattle Zeenuts.

Anyone interested can email me at jobermeyer2@attbi.com

I thought I'd keep this thread alive.

I want LOWER-GRADE (the lower the better, though the advertising at the bottom of cards is always nice, but not necessary) Cap Anson cards.

I'm most interested in N162 Goodwin Champions.

I'm also interested in Mayo and A&G (if I don't win the one that's closing on ebay in a day or two).

And, of course, Old Judge, but I doubt anybody's got an OJ Anson just waiting for my bargain-craving self.

The card is fan craze and very sharp (should grade at least NRMT with one of the 3 letter wonders). Sorry, I cannot seem to figure out how to post a scan here but I will gladly email one to whomever is interested)

As far as trade I am looking for PSA/SGC 6 or better T202s or T205s and -- I'm not holding my breath here --a Harry Wright card from the 19th Century.

Please email me if you are interested. __________________________________________________ _____

* Before I get everyone upset I know that somewhere out there is ONE earlier card of the three-fingered one -- an Alleghany. But really most of us will probably never even see that card (or the Just So cards of CY Young and Jesse Burkett for that matter). So for all intents and purposes this is as good as it gets. (Us lawyer-types LOVE footnotes)

I have just posted my first two fake cabinets on ebay. They came out pretty good, so I've decided to start creating them for selling. If you have a photo that you think would look good as a cabinet, please contact me - I can create these on special request for a very small charge. Please check these out:

I know it's not a card, but what better forum than this to post my request - I'd love to obtain a copy of
Lipset's collected Old Judge newsletter. Anyone willing to part with theirs or know of anyone else who is so willing, I'd appreciate hearing.

I'm new to this group, and hope I'm using this system properly. I'm looking for any card in almost any condition (except super-duper pristine better than mint) of the following players: Ed Delahanty, Roger Connor, Harry Wright, and Bid McPhee. If they're Old Judges, they can be skinned, but not trimmed. I'm also looking for the Fan Craze of Ban Johnson, and Zeenuts of Heilman, Crawford, Vance, Lombardi, Paul Waner. And an M-101-4/5 of Thorpe is on my wish list too. Please let me know if you can help out. You can email me at pstewart@kmob.com.
Thanks.

Paul I am assuming you means cards of these 19th century stars from the 19th century (if not I can help you but you are in the wrong place for "commemorative cards" issued long after the players were deceased).

I think that many of the denizens of this board are chomping at the bit for most of those 19th century cards you mention (especially Wright and McPhee) but people do upgrade.
Just out of curiousity, how come Jesse Burkett isn't on your list ? He seems to be pretty hard to come by too !
Nonetheless, welcome! Sooner or later someone here will be able to direct you to what you seek (sounds rather zen, doesn't it?).
Good Luck and if I get any of those cards (and can part with them) I'll keep you in mind.
Good luck and happy hunting,
Brian H.

Thanks for the quick response. I am looking for 19th Century cards, not modern commemorative cards. I didn't list Burkett because I have a Ramly of him. I would prefer a card of him as a player, but cannot find or afford the Just So card of him. Supposedly, two different W600s were issued of him. Can you confirm whether either one exists?

I plan on putting these two cards on ebay tonight 93-day auction) at 9:30pm.Eastern, so if you can give me a positive response by then, either is yours.

SGC20 (fair) '34 Canadian Ruth #28. Very presentable card - it has NO creases, but has several marks that look like the paper was clamped - please ask for scan. Like the Cobb, best-looking card in this grade you'll ever see. - $650 I said I would never sell this card, but I was lucky enough to pick up a '34 Ruth R309-1 premium the other day, which I never expected.

SGC30(good) t206 green portrait Cobb - corner wear, creases in lower-right. Best good of this card you'll ever see. Beautiful color and registration - $620 I need a higher grade for my set, and had hoped for (unrealistically) a vg from SGC.

I have three Southern League T206 cards for sale. I am planning to sell them on ebay tonight, but I thought I'd give anyone in here first crack at them. These are actually for a friend so the price is set in stone at $257, insured and delivered. I have no control over the price. If you are interested, send me an E-mail at:

cy@cyscards.com

Here is the link to view the cards:

Thank you.
