Here's a phantom ticket to Game 5 of the 2008 World Series at Shea Stadium.

Regardless of the outcome, this would have been an important game in Mets history because Game 5 would have been the very last game ever played at the legendary Flushing ballpark (unless either team had swept it in four games).

The holder of this ticket would have had an excellent view of the game - Field Box 41C was right behind the Mets' dugout, perhaps even the very first row.

Default 1915 Federal League Annual Pass

A recent pickup from the REA auction that ended last night that I'm happy to add to my advanced no-hitter ticket collection.
Here is an extremely rare Federal League Annual Pass to the 1915 season.
1915 would be the 2nd and final year of the Federal League and an important one as far as no-hitter games.
Four Federal League pitchers pitched no-hitter games in 1915:

Frank Allen of the Pittsburgh rebels no-hit the hometown St. Louis Terriers
Claude Hendrix of the Chicago Whales no-hit the hometown Pittsburgh Rebels
Alex Miles Main of the KC Packers no-hit The Buffalo Blues at Buffalo
Dave Davenport of the St. Louis Terriers no-hit the Chicago Whales at STL
.

Three of the four 1915 Federal League no-hitters had extremely low attendance, with 500, 1000 and 1500 fans in attendance respectively.
Finding tickets to these games has proved to be impossible, so adding this rare annual season pass will at least cover these games in my collection.
This particular paper/cardboard 1915 Federal League pass is the only one known to survive in the hobby according to REA.

Love this 1937 Yankees Season Pass. Not only did they win the Series that year, but this is also the year and stadium that HOF'er Mickey Cochrane took that awful hit to the head that ended his career.

Did you guys see this on eBay? Went for $1835 (nearly 2 grand with tax).

If I had listed it, it would have sold for 20 bucks.

Scott, two bidders got into a bidding war on this auction. The third bidder was way under $1000.

First Game on the west coast and Debut of Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda. Expensive but not surprising with the debut mania these days.

A couple notable tickets that are in my collection are Justin Verlander's first No-Hitter from June of 2007 and the May 14, 2012 Nationals Padres game (Harper's first Big League Home Run).

Someone should grab these up before someone else does.

Maybe they just forgot to use a decimal in the listing price.

Ticket collectors are VERY SMART. And while prices have risen slightly, he's trying to set a new market, but again since March of last year hasn't sold ANY.

If you put in Ticket in search under his items: 165 Tickets

Sold: Zero - other then Jordan and a signed Kobe, but Ruth and Baseball zilch!!!!

On a positive note, he is great for sellers of Ruth Tickets. He will overpay., because again he knows nothing about Ticket prices and the market.

Default Ticket to Walter Johnson's 33rd and final win in 1912

Here is the only known ticket to WaJo's 33rd and final win in his terrific 1912 campaign.
Historic? This game actually has it all on so many levels...

Johnson literally did it all in 1912.

He won over 30 games for the 1st of two consecutive years of accomplishing this lofty goal. He struck out over 300 batters for the 2nd time in his career- 303 (led MLB) in 1912. His 1.39 ERA also led all of baseball in 1912.
Oh yeah, there was also a winning streak of 16 games without a single loss...

In this game, which was played in NY, Walter defeated the AL NY Highlanders in what would be the final time that they would be called the Highlanders.
In 1913 NY changed their name to the NY Yankees for the 1st time.

Only 200 people attended this game, which is an incredibly small number, making this ticket perhaps one of the rarest historic games that I have ever seen, FWIW...

This one fits my collection well. I wish they were all so cheap. August 20,1975 the Pirates defeat the Giants 3-1 giving The Whistling Irishman Danny Murtaugh his 1000th career victory

I think I am going to jump in a trying getting my first ticket for my collection.

May take some time because I want it to complement my items so it will need to be related to Ruth or Jackson.

Not sure when I will start the look because I am in a holding pattern for now but I will post when I do it and get it

Thanks all

I also recently received this 1939 Dodgers ticket for a game that was the first game a color fast yellow dye was used. MLB had a few games in 1938-39 that used a yellow baseball to see if it was safer for players to play with and easier for fans to see. In the first game a yellow ball was used the Dodgers pitcher Fitzsimmons had the yellow dye all over on his shirt where he wiped his hands.

Thanks Tom! I'm always inspired by the tickets you pick up.

Regarding the '88 WS Game 1 ticket, I can easily see this stub being one of the next ones to start getting up there in price, as more people appreciate the historic significance of Gibson's Home Run.

Picked this one up, and only for a few rubles.

While she ain't perfect, she shore is purty.

Who's says yah can't find hidden gems on Ebay?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrI7dVj90zs

....and only like 7 graded by PSA (I don't count proof tickets), compared to about 110 Ruth Called Shot tickets.

....and as Leo tells it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09BVTJD4STQ

If you want to see that show in it's entirety with Hank & Mickey:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abago5tYZdM

Giants came from 13-1/2 games back to tie it on the Final Day of the season, forcing a 3-game Playoff, in which the Giants won Game 1 and the Dodgers won Game 2.

......as Willie tells it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSiiGbHXyGM

Full Game Broadcast (different announcer):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=el04GusE3Ts

....according to the announcer the entire '51 Yankees team were in attendance that day watching to see who their opponent would be in the World Series.

Another interesting tidbit:
"Aware of the infamous Fred Merkle blunder, Jackie Robinson was the only Dodger to remain on the field making sure Thompson touched all the bases."

Good Documentary on it and the Polo Grounds and Ebbets Field, some great footage, look for the memorabilia, programs, banners, etc.:

Well, looking at the seller, it doesn’t surprise me with the ridiculous price.

That Gidez32 seller is an Ass Clown.
His asking prices do nothing but create an eBay museum of insanity...

The SF Giants offered to give every fan that attended the game a FREE ticket to any upcoming game... in exchange for their ticket to the game!
The Giants proceeded to throw all of these tickets away.

The lure of getting something for free proved to be too much to resist for virtually all of the fans. Thus explains the scarcity of Willie's 3,000th hit tickets.

That being said, over $6,000 for this ticket with condition issue is cray cray!!

My buddy was also there….he, of course, opted for the exchange.

New pickup, 1936 Martinsburg blue Sox season pass with hack wilson managing. Hack played for Martinsburg in the early 20s before his big league debut, and returned as a player in 1935. But Very little info is available on this year 1936, apparently they were part of the blue ridge league but I can't find that info. And even though it says manager hack did still play in games.
Beautiful ticket, I love the secretary and presidents autographs as well.

These three full tickets recently returned from PSA. It was my first submission to a TPG. I am pretty satisfied with the results. For what it’s worth the Spahn is the only one slabbed to date. The Musial is the second highest grade, and the Griffeys ticket is the highest graded version of that ticket.

Mike, love the tickets and how PSA labeled them (I assume you were specific on that?). Well done.

(The Griffeys playing together always blows me away, must've been so special for them...totally unique experience).

Gotcha, worked out well then! I think when the labels are properly notated, it can really help tell the story of a ticket.

Great tickets.

Can anybody help me understand whether this ticket stub I recently bought is what it was advertised as? The ebay seller says that it came out of a meticulously kept/labeled collection, and that this was for this 5/1/1933 game, in which Arky Vaughan hit his first grand slam (and inside-the-parker!)

There's a big "55" on the ticket, but 5/1/33 was certainly not the 55th Pittsburgh or Philadelphia game of that season, so I'm not sure what this might refer to, or if this means that this ticket stub wasn't from that game. In any case, I'd hugely appreciate any help. Thanks!

I'll add a couple that are special to me as a Reds fan...Pete Rose passed Ty Cobb to become the all-time hits leader with hit #4192 on September 11, 1985.
