This is like that photo game where you guess the 10 errors. Some more: title says 1933 - description says 1916, he's got nothing else for sale, the flip looks like a kidnapping letter, he says it's a "gift" from a "will", he does the silly old me knows nothing about cards, there's more but I'm on my phone and am going by image memory.

It is an old slab with a low serial#. I hear they gave higher grades back then.

I could be wrong but I thought the 1933 reprints were produced in 1983. If Ruth died in 1948, how did he sign that?

Looks fine to me ....No worries on that one!!

That being said my guess it has the same chances of legitimacy as the Goudey Reprint Rookie with Babes signature.

"Hi I am selling my babe ruth 1916 baseball card that i got as a gift from grandfather that was in his will and it was actuly my great grandfathers. I'm not a big fan of sports so I have desisde to give away the card. It dose have a very samel tear at the up right corner that's bearly noticeable. I don't know how much these go for so I'm starting the bid at 100$"

Just starting with the syntax, spelling, punctuation, and grammar and setting aside most of the inaccuracies in the semantic content, it should read:

"Hi, I am selling a 1916 Babe Ruth baseball card which I received as an heirloom from my grandfather and which was originally my great-grandfather's. I'm not a big fan of sports, so I have decided to sell the card. It has a very small, barely noticeable, tear at the upper-right corner. I don't know how much these go for, so I'm starting the bidding at $100."

I think you may have stumbled on the secret... Babe Ruth is still alive! A spritely 122 years young and signing for non-sports loving, Canadian great-grandsons.

Wasn't this card sold at a Memory Lane Auction (I know the listing is 110% fraudulent, just saw the same PSA number google image searching)?

Yeah, that is the correct card. As mentioned earlier, according to PSA, 02059139 has a hologram too.

Default Thanks Grandpa

This is one lucky grandson. His great grandfather had the card graded by PSA prior to passing it down to his grandpa. Grandpa leaves it in his will for this fortunate grandson. Wow! Amazing imagination kid.

Cut him some slack. He's Canadian.

I actually came here to post on a related topic...The number of unauthorized reproductions being sold on eBay. How are people getting away with this? Reprints are starting to outnumber originals in search results. Shouldn't these listings be shut down? It's very frustrating.

Don is a nice guy. I have spent time speaking with him at some local get togethers.
He seems to be a different type collector than most on this board. He is a "number on the slab" type guy, which is fine too. He is passionate about those numbers . The higher the better. The E90-1 Young in my collection came from his collection, originally, I believe.

Let's all hope that PSA doesn't start checking air-bags as a sideline business.

I cannot believe that eBay with their thousands of employees missed the inconsistencies in this listing.

However, recently a large number of their staff were transferred from the "Accuracy in Listing Surveillance Unit" to the "Shill Bidding and Bid Retraction Detection Unit". This personnel move did not result in a staffing reduction in the "PWCC Bean Counting Division" or in the "Perpetually Museum Priced BIN Department".
