Default What do ya'll think of the cover?

What do ya'll think of the cover of the catalog? It will have The Leon Luckey Collection where the Sports Cards words are now....It was a difficult decision. The card is the "1928 Sociedade Industrail Babe Ruth & Ty Cobb #105 SGC 50" in the auction. This pic is blurry...I am confident the cover won't be . I guess I should have also added that this pic is re-sized larger and that is why it is blurry to start with. The one on their site obviously isn't blurry as I am pretty sure the cover won't be either....

Looks good to me. I'm sure there will be a lot of interest in this auction.

Very nice, though I must admit I was hoping it would be a full-size pic of one of those cards with "Leon" written across the top.

Buy the cards, not the cover.

The image looks fairly sharp on the Heritage site. And it looks like the images are all loaded.

Auction link. Nice! Good luck, Leon!

Where's your lucky quarter? I can't tell how big the card is without it.

Hey Leon great auction as I mentioned to you before but I may have bad news about the cover. It may be soft/blurry since the card it's being taken from is quite small and blowing it up to (I'm assuming) 8.5x11 it's going to have to fake pixels hence the softness of the photo. There is software that can help or it can be done on a drum scanner. Anyway long story short don't be too disappointed if the photo is not as crisp as you hope. It will be a great auction either way and good luck!! I know I'm bidding on quite a few items just have to pair down the list

Leon--you might want to correct the description that the GGG Goodwin box is the only one of its kind. Great auction--good luck.

I will make sure they make an addendum online. I should know, right? (inside joke as I believe Jay got one from me) I know it's not the only one but left most of the descriptions to them and didn't check every one. Thanks for the kind words.

I love the cover, Leon. This catalog will be like the ACC in full color! I hope to make a run on at least one particular item.

Thanks for the link. Sadly the only card I wanted and could afford of Leons is not in the sale. It would have looked out of place anyway being modern.

It's a beautiful cover Leon, and it's kind of funny because it doesn't picture a traditional baseball card.

Default Fantastic!

Leon, do you know if the catalog is ready now, and if so, how I can obtain one if I am not on the HA mailing list? The last thread said "closer to July," so hoping it is available now!

Yes....I am sure I will be changing my avatar and of course whomever wins anything is free to do what they want to. I don't think there is any law saying you have to own something to use as an avatar but I usually do own what I use.

As for catalogs, my guess is that they will be shipping in the next few weeks. I doubt there will be an exact day given but we'll know and let everyone know. Every board member that wants one will get one shipped to them. Whether you are a Heritage bidder or not you can get one if you ask. We will have 1-2 contacts at Heritage and I will let ya'll know who that is again, probably Peter and Mark but I have to check on that.

I knew there might be a bit more cherished than could be afforded at one time with so many Ruth's, Cobb's and type cards. With pre-approval Heritage has a payment plan built into place. All you have to do is ask and follow their direction. It is something like 25% down and a 1% interest per month. Please check the site for all of the information. I have used that option at least TWICE and it works perfectly. If you think you can get something at 70% of market, why not pay a few interest percent to pick it up? That is what I have done in the past.

And lastly, if there is anyone with a financial special circumstance, bring it to me. Within Heritage's framework I am sure something can be worked out. Even longer than normal terms can be had if required, I believe. I hope everyone is looking forward to the auction. It's been a fun 20'ish yrs building the collection and I am well on my way to the next one.

The catalogs will ship on/or about the 7th of July and the Collection Auction will open on/or about July 8th. All members who want a catalog are more than welcome to ask and get one for free. (ask later please there will be plenty of time)

I'll email you but you know what we have discussed. And we have more room this month so you can set your own hours. I'll even publicize your appearance.
