Default T206 Wagner on Ebay 5 Grand will get u a Million

What does everyone make of this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Honus-Wagner-T-2...item27b7075bc9

I'm sure it's not real, but is that how the cards were packed back in the day. For some reason I thought they were in the cig box.

Early ads show the card packed between two rows of cigarettes. The card actually added structure to the box. If I'm not mistaken, I think the cardboard insert came first; they started printing images on them later.

It looks like fasteddy is trying to make a fast buck. Anybody can tell the Wagner is a reprint - the borders are too wide.

It appears to be in a GAI holder. I don't know how he got GAI to grade it unless is says reprint on the flip. The funny thing is that he makes no mention of GAI and almost purposely crops out the flip.

That's a shame! He ruined a perfectly good reprint.

From the pictures it appears that the seller sprinkled tobacco and dirt on the OUTSIDE of the holder.

You know things are bad for GAI when scammers selling reprints don't want to be associated with your product.

Hopefully it'll get better for GAI when they open back up on Monday...

Looks like this may be a hijacked account. FastEddie has no feedback from Jan 2009 to Sept 2010. That Sept feedback was for a T-206 Wagner.

I don't think it's a hijacked account. It looks like he sold a similar item before - see feedback April 23rd, 2008.

Yeah I see that now. Good Catch. I also see he has sold quite a few vintage cards in the past. That other Wagner was a steal. He did sell a lot of high end Corvette stuff. The guy that bought the other Wagner's ebay is id Vette something. Hmmmm! Fishy things going on here. He might be trying to lure a greedy fish with expensive fakes through best offer. He has a 52 Mantle for sale also. He needs reported for sure.

A couple of thoughts...

#1.) T206 were packaged INSIDE the packs, not outside

#2.) GAI slabs full packs inside a plastic baggie (inside the holder). As the tobacco leaks out, it sticks to the baggie such as seen in the photo, so I doubt that the tobacco was purposefully spread all over the front and back of the pack - it just happens in the GAI holder.

#3.) The card is a clear fake.

#4.) That is not a 1909-11 era Sweet Caporal pack. I'm sure GAI screwed this up (as they did with EVERY other Sweet Caporal pack thy encapsulated). That pack is from the "ask Dad" campaign, circa 1918.)

Fasteddy1957 is clearly a scam artist, and if he reads this board, I hope he clears this up asap.

He has also listed the following auction: 1909 Sweet Caporal cigarete pack- unopened with a BIN of $1500 or b/o.

http://cgi.ebay.com/1909-Sweet-Capor...item27b70bd020

However, he has scanned two different packs. The pack front shown has an "A" series tax stamp, which dates the pack to the 1920s. In the back scan, he shows a 1909 tax stamp. These two scans cannot go together. An "A" series tax stamp never was issued in 1909. Fasteddy is showing the front of one pack, and the back of another.

I like how he says "money back guarantee" in his listing. Like "fasteddie" is not gonna take the money and run if any idiot buys it.

Default '52 Topps Mantle "Authentic"

How about his other auctions? He has a slabbed '52 Topps Mick graded "Authentic". It looks like it could be an easy 4 or 5. Why would it be graded "A" and not a number if it was that nice?

Then he has another Sweet Caporal pack up for sale. There are two different packs shown. The first picture shows one pack with a Series "A" stamp where the second picture shows a pack with the correct "1910" stamp.

Hope everyone is keeping warm out there.

He started the listing at $5K, but now it's at $3.5 million. What a moron!

He also added a lot of "fluff" to his description.
