Default Cool Tobacco Pack Display from 1967 **NEAT EBAY FIND**

I was browsing through ebay the other day and came across a somewhat vintage wire photo back dated 1967 that displays a vintage collection of 1880's to 1930's Cigarette packs. I thought it was really neat to see these things displayed this way and the greatest part is they look to be all unopned for the most part. Really cool display that has some extremely tough to find tobacco packs included (Ramly, Broadleaf, American Beauty (thin pack), Turkey Red, and for the non-sporty there is some other very difficult packs included (eg. Schulte's Own (T49). Anyways, here are the scans, I'm going to show a large front and back image then I'll post blown up shots as well... enjoy!

You gotta love the following

-Sovereign pack in upper left corner with band on front stating "Good Tobacco Never Harmed Anyone"... wow, we have come a long way!!!

-Extreme upper left "Bare Kat" cigarettes with ad stating "For Men Only"!

Cool, Rhett. I love things like this that are supporting material to the stuff that we collect. I have several of these packs and see some that I'd LOVE to have, including the Home Run and American Beauty packs on the top row. Thanks for sharing.

What a jewel of a photo. I like to think it is someones collection versus a photo op for the newspaper. Either way, a great record. Congrats on the pick up and thanks for sharing.

That Sovereign band brings up all manner of questions. Is the pack later (more recent) than the others or is Sovereign just the innovative advertising brand of the time. The message 'never harmed anyone' sounds defensive. Who were they defending against? Was there a 'tobacco is harmful' cause and if so, what became of it?

Great photo and it brings home the fun of collecting to me.
