Before I won this Waddell (Pitching) - Sovereign, my Monster Number was 108. I am not sure WHAT it is now. 108 and 2/3? I believe it to be real, before I actually get see it in person, based on the vendors word and reputation. Maybe one of you would be so kind as to crack a slab (so we are sure it is real) and mangle a Waddell, in the same fashion so we can do some side by side comparisons

A modern day collector would never allow that to happen to Rube. What fascinates me is that after the mangle, that somebody decided to still keep it. I cannot imagine what actually caused the mangling though.

Default My Two National Items

Only picked up two items at the national, one I've been searching for at the right price for quite a long time, and another that I had to have for the price I could get it for. My first national, and I'm pleased.

Got all these plus a few others from board member oaks1912 at Nationals. He was extremely generous with his time telling me more then I thought I could ever know about the PCL and Zeenuts. Really, a great guy! He's forgotten more about the PCL and Zeenuts that any of the rest of us will ever know.

A few pickups for the '33 Goudey set I'm in the initial phases of building. Many thanks to Ralph (rp12367) for the Cantwell and Jason (Beatles Guy) for the Ruel, Mancuso, and Grantham.

A couple of pick ups from the National and in the week leading up to the National. Several represent upgrades and others are new to the collection.

'39 Tigers:

The print company logo in the lower left corner is the same for the '46 Cleveland Browns Sears set. Allied? What are the dimensions?

Jeff, you're postcard collection is seriously going to another level. Thanks for sharing your great cards stuff; and the rest of Net54 hasn't done too shabby either. Wow! Some great cards definitely found new homes this month.

Here is my lone contribution, didn't cost much and it's certainly not worth much........but darn, it makes me feel like it's 1909 all over again and I'm on deck. That 3rd baseman better guard the line, I'm a pull hitter.

Lovely Day...

Cobb beater

I'm glad to see that Cobb made it into a net 54 members hands again. I originally bought it in 1996 I think when I was about 14 years old and it was by far the most I ever spent on a card.... I loved it for years and finally traded it off last year to another net54 member for an e121 Walter Johnson, after I had earlier picked up a Cobb Bat Off.... I saw it on ebay and thought about bidding on it again but didn't. I had it graded by SGC when I had it. Congrats

A new r315 pickup for me...now I only need a Tom Zachary to complete my Yankees subset....
