Default Need help with '52 Topps backs

Just wondering the difference between red and grey backs if anyone could point out the difference, also if grey backs are more scarce. Thanks!

Cards from 1-80 have both red and black backs, due to the ink color of the name box. Cards from 131-190 have both white stock backs (like your #179) and gray stock backs (like your others). They gray backs in that series are very valuable. Commons can sell for thousands to master set collectors.

Black backs are a little rarer in the first series.

Thanks for your help John, so only grey backs in the 131-190 series are the most valuable then is that right?

Yes. The other series are mostly gray backs and have no increased value. Some people call the #131-190 gray backs "Canadian" because the first finds supposedly originated from Canada.
