Great hockey! I love those 70/71 OPC AS and Award Winner cards, of course, that Richard is amazing. Thanks for sharing, don't see enough old hockey on here.

Default 03-04 Exquisite Lebron James Auto Patch

Sold this exact card (albeit raw at the time) right after the decision...I just couldn't stand the guy and being an Orlando Magic fan and having to deal with a loaded Heat team made it even worse. Turns out it was a bit of a short-sighted decision on my part but the opportunity to pick it back up was too enticing to pass up. Glad to have it back

Thanks. I had no intention of buying the Richard but Steve Verkman had a 25% off sale on his hockey-football-basketball cards at the show so I thought I might as well take a look. When I came across the card I was just floored. My scanner isn't very good so the image is somewhat darker than the actual card. It just popped out at me and demanded to be purchased. I will probably use a voucher and put it onto a PSA holder when I re-up my CC membership.

Here's a 1985 Jordan Nike Promo I picked up on ebay and a few Jordan cards from a recent PSA submission.

I have quite a few of those Sky Box minis, (don't recall where I got them from?) but I didn't realize they were identical to the larger cards?

I assume the value would be a lot smaller as well?

Landed one of my white whales. I'm a huge Boston Bruins fan and I've wanted an example of this card for years and finally managed to snag one for the right price.

Nice pick up, Adam. I too am/was a huge Boston Bruins fan growing up (not so much lately) as being born and raised in Oshawa and the Generals being Boston's farm team, I guess it's in my blood. lol.

Bobby Orr, when I was an infant, played road hockey out in front of our house on Byng ave in Oshawa.
Regretfully, my Father never took pics or go his autograph.

On a side note, I acquired these Beehives from my Father and was happy to find a real signed Dit Clapper card. In all honesty I never knew how great of a player he was, but I am pretty happy to have this card now.

Although the 1988 Fleer Jordan is quite plentiful, it was difficult to find an example with near perfect centering.

Great hockey cards guys! Here's a super tough 1970 O-Pee-Chee Black Bottom Print Variation of Bobby Orr. Glad I got the chance to buy one! Just got it back from PSA and it is now the third correctly graded black bottom print variation (I own the other two).

We have a local show in Halifax once a month. Not a lot of sellers(maybe 25) but a very nice mix of vintage, new and oddball stuff.Price are always fair.I also bought an unopened pack of 100 Bobby Orr rally Patches from the early 70's.I know that it is not all that valuable. But to find such a thing still factory sealed.Kind of neat if you ask me.Just need to find an Orr fan or a Bruin fan.

Got up off my wallet and picked up some '48 Bowman basketball cards that arrived today. Highlights would include #34 Joe Fulks RC and four tough high numbers with #72 the last card in the set. This puts me at 62 different of the 72 cards in the set or 86% completed.

Usually, I just post to the baseball side, but I finally got around to sending in my Gretzky rookie.
The 1979 Gretzky rookie is the first great card my dad ever shared with me (we busted a box together when I was 5). He had a fantastic collection (mostly baseball), but I have always loved the '79 Gretzky. Dad has been gone over 20 years ago, and the card he showed me is long gone, but after he died, I saved up all summer and finally bought this card. I have had it with me for over 20 years.

Yeah that's a great story and that's a really nice copy that I'm sure you'll have for another 20 years. What collecting is all about - a connection to our past.

Everyone should own at least one Gretzky!

Here's a Press Pass issued to Bobby Orr for the Blackhawks game at the Montreal Forum on February 9, 1978. I was told these were given to injured players to put in their handkerchief pocket during the game.

Bobby Orr sat out the entire 1977-78 season as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks recovering from his 12th knee operation. He would play only six more games before retiring in the fall of 1978.

Started working again on my Dr. J basic set. Pretty pumped to get these for a good price. The mark on the 1973 is on the scanner, not on card or case.

That is sweet. As classic as it gets. I have my eye on the Sawchuk from that set, SGC, but its not an "8". The Ted is gorgeous.

Here are a few neat pickups:

1905 Calumet Hockey Club Team Postcard that includes Jimmy Gardner HOF (front row, far left)

1973 Bobby Orr Photo by Dimitri
Includes signatures of Team Canada players & coaches from the 1976 Canada Cup Roster: Scotty Bowman, Don Cherry, Bobby Clarke, Phil Esposito, Bobby Hull, Reggie Leach, Peter Mahovlich, Bobby Orr & Darryl Sittler

1976 "Keep Orr" Sticker (Grant Printing Company, Inc.)
This sticker was created by a local printer who distributed them outside of the Boston Garden during a playoff game in 1976 when it was speculated that Orr was not going to remain a Bruin next season

the '90 ud hockey set is a personal favorite...and when you pair that up with the next hockey savior i had to get the card signed.

Nice P/U's, JB!

Curious, as I don't attend shows with any frequency, but where would one go to find out about shows in and around the GTA?

I also assume, most in and around there are hockey related rather than Baseball related?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Irv,
There's a show pretty much every weekend in and around Toronto, here are a couple of links (didn't include the Expo that's twice a year):

torontocardshow.com

westtorontocardshow.com

Mostly hockey but some baseball too. Also, there's lots of modern cards but I'm not into those. Sometimes the best stuff at these small shows is walked in by the customers, I've picked up a few things that way.
