Default Babe Ruth card help

I was at a local card show yesterday, when a dealer I've bought from waved me over. He wanted to show me a recent acquisition. It was a Babe Ruth card he had never seen before, and I haven't either. He told me he purchased it, with a number of other cards, for $600.00 from a man who inherited his grandfather's collection.

The card is yellow, measures a bit larger than the standard tobacco cards, and has a photo printed on it. It depicts the Babe from the waist up, standing in the dugout (the dugout roof is visible just behind his head). The photo is rough, and there are no markings on his uniform or cap, but the caption clearly says Boston. The back is blank, and there are no numbers on the card.

Ring any bells?

Card is Yellow? as in The Card stock is yellow? Or is it yellow from age.

What did the Caption say? Babe Ruth, Boston AL?

Also was a real photo or a drawing? B&W or Color?

There arent many cards that show Ruth with Boston.

The card stock has a yellow tint - not from age. The caption is Babe Ruth, Boston, A.L. It's a black and white photograph. I cannot provide a scan. I was wondering if the description strikes a chord with anyone.

Sounds to me like it could be one of these photos, maybe cropped? Maybe some sort of strip card? Or it could be something somebody made in his basement....

That first photo is the one. However, you can't read RED SOX on the uniform. The card didn't look homemade. I just glanced through the Lipset Encyclopedia of Baseball Cards and drew a blank. Thanks for trying, guys.
