Default PSA 9 v. SGC 9

Posted By: pete

If I have a SGC 96/9 of a major star, can I expect to get "closer" to the SMR price of a PSA 9 or a PSA 8 when I go to sell ??? Not taken into the demand of certain players or cards.
thanks
pete-

the premise of the question is flawed Check to see if PSA has even graded a "9" of the card; odds are it hasn't, but that's never stopped it from fluffing up a price on one

Seriously, when it comes to high end cards like that there is no way to ascertain what the market price of the item is until it is auctioned.

Default PSA 9 v. SGC 9

If I bought high end cards I personally would pay more for a SGC 96 over a PSA 9 because they don't give out that grade as readily as PSA. I know I would not have to pay as much because they don't have as many collectors of high end SGC cards as those people that pay assstronomical prices for there card registry.

I still would like someone to tell me what the difference between a PSA 8, 9, and 10. I think it is all joke since grading is all subjective.

When you go to sell, generally a PSA 9 would go for more, unless the card was extremely rare and people just want the card no matter what. I have not done the scientific survey but based on casual observation, PSA graded cards demand more in the marketplace. I personally don't care and I think there are sometimes good deals on SGC and GAI graded cards.
