From the uniforms, it might be 1910s. The uniforms look older than
1920s and I think I see sock stirrups on the catcher, which were
first used in the 1910s. As Lord & Taylor was a department store
that sold boy's baseball clothes, I would assume the clothes depicted
on the stamp would be up to date for the period-- meaning, it's not a 1950s
stamp that shows uniforms from earlier decades. No 1950s kid be attracted
to an ad for clothes that his grandpa wore. Lord & Taylor was in the business
of offering the latest and newest to the public ... Also Lord & Taylor has
been in New York City since the 1800s, so the company itself was around
back then.

Thanks for the feedback. I knew this would be a wildly popular thread that is heavily debated (not). I also thought 1910's first, and it was bought that way, but I am conservative, to a detriment sometimes. best regards

I have a bunch of the original paintings and sketches by the artist
who did the art for Lord and Taylor ads. Though it's from the 1970s,
not 1910s, and shows women in dresses, not boys in uniform.

Lord and Stanley is a big NYC department store, so I'm sure someone like
Mickey Mantle or Babe Ruth shopped there.
