Default 1909 Benton Harbor Football Team Postcard

Anyone ever heard of this team or is it fictional for the cartoon? The first two I can't make out names Jones,Knockno Simon,Mit,Morris,Hill,Morrow,Gore,Moats and Capt. Lester.

Not sure what to make of this PC. There was a Benton Harbor High School football team in 1909 coached by Cleveland Lester, but they were a white football team unfortunately in black face here. If it's even meant to be them.

The September 24, 1909 edition of the Benton Harbor News Palladium reported, Lester was granted a leave from the Port Marquette Railroad until December 1, 1909 to coach the team. 1908 returners included Dunham, V(?), Clawson, Mills, and Throw. New arrivals to the team included Densmore, Pickett, Carpenter, Bostick.....

Four or five more articles on this team from September 23 - October 19, 1909. PM me with your email and I'll send the PDF copies to you out of the BHNP. Ty
