Default Question for W600 Experts

I know there are four types of mounts, all shown nicely on the Old Cardboard website. And I have always thought that Type 1 mounts were issued in 1902 and Type 2 mounts were issued in 1903. But I have seen several Type 2 mounts that include the date 1902 in the caption with the player's name. What's up with these cards? Are they really from 1902? Or was the Sporting Life just using old photos and captions at the beginning of the Type 2 run?

Also, are there any Type 1 mounts that DON'T say "1902" in the caption? Thanks.

Some players were available with Type 2 mounts as early as November of 1902. They continued to be made until August of 1903, when The Sporting Life switched over to their Type 3 mount.

AFAIK, all Type 1 mounts say “of 1902” on them, but I really only follow Hall of Famers. Hoping that Scott Brockelman can chime in.
