Default Mike Kelly Shoe Polish

This has got to be one of the coolest items Ive seen in a while. Has anyone seen this product before?

Shine, Kelly, Shine!

I have seen the can, never the box. Very cool, indeed.

Still cool, but:

I think, based on the graphics, this is probably not 19th Century. I'm not even sure "shoe polish" was sold as such that early. Probably teens or 20s, I'd guess.

Also, King Kelly as part of pop culture had a pretty long shelf life. The "Slide, Kelly" baseball board game, for instance, was manufactured in the 30s.

Yep...REA sold one similar to this one a few years back...the REA example appears to be older judging by the box style.

I've seen another for sale full of tins, but can't recall exactly where or when. It was a few years ago at least. I see the tins often for $100, but the box is a treasure.

There was a full box in the Halper auction. Lot 2206 for those who have the catalog.
