Wow.....

These seem to have gone up a bit in the past year or so.

Any idea as to the price of the fielding version ? I picked one up from a board member sometime ago. I just never see them come up at auction.

Just shocked at the ending price. I was thinking in the 300.00 range for a 1.5

Very few fielding poses out there; realistically, in like condition, think you can (at minimum) double the price...

REA just had a near set- 15 of 16- and of course the missing one was Cobb fielding. Very tough card.

Any thoughts as to why it's so tough ? Granted it doesn't have what i consider a great picture of Cobb but does this equate to less having survived ?

it was printed first with the set, then replaced by the batting pose. So, technically, the fielding pose was issued first - guess that one is his real "Rookie".

There are very few graded cards of the fielding version; but damn, is that the worst fielding picture you've ever seen?

I agree. Looks like he tripped over the bag and is about to fall flat on his face.

I'm sure this has been asked/answered, but what is on the ground near his feet?

...which is even more incredible when you consider he was an outfielder! What is he doing on that base?

I won the REA Dietsche near set, so I do need a fielding to complete. I've always thought that card was probably replaced early in the print run with the batting card, just to have a more attractive Cobb in the set. I estimate seeing about a half dozen a year, so they are not impossible to find.

In the past year i've seen 2. Of them i grabbed one. But wish i picked up the other as well.

I have this one as well as a 40 batting and an ungraded batting that should grade a 5.

I have had a couple of near complete sets over the years but that fielding pose doesn't even look familiar. I must have been without it each time.

The photo is too dark and it looks like his right hand is missing. I can see why it was replaced.
