My question is - is this a charity event? I have seen posts about M and B and A and there was talk of M support. Also the charity described in the LOTG thread. So, is this in support of those?

Otherwise, I am unsure of how this supports Net54 as it seems to be business specific related.

Thanks - let me know if I missed something.
I am doing this in conjunction with the OP and we are both profiting from it It is not charity. . I am sorry if it wasn't transparent already, that is my fault. My apologies. Actually all of these were my cards and got sent to Stephen today. I am doing this with Stephen but he is doing all of the work. I/we should have said more (something) about it. Some 3 yrs ago Nick did some of these breaks with my (Net54baseball) support and they worked very well and members seemed to enjoy them. This (and future ones I am involved with) are an offshoot of those.
That said, the very last one was all Stephen, with the Joe Jackson booklet. I had nothing to do with it except Stephen paid for the thread to do it, as others have done too.

Thanks Leon.

I was a bit confused as I know that there are front page advertisements. When I got what felt like a generic PM, I wasn't sure if there was a PM level of advertisement as well.

When it said support Net54, I wasn't sure what that meant, as I knew that the last one (Jackson) was a front page Ad.

If it was a support Net54 issue - either through one of the charities spoken about in one of the other threads or making M whole, I would have probably bought in for it - even though I am not yet collecting pre-war issues. It is more about the community, etc.

I would have sent a PM, but I felt like it was a larger question with the other posts that I had referred to. Apparently, there was no connection. Since you are involved, I now understand what the support Net54 part meant.

What I didn't appreciate was a second PM that was asking me to delete the post and that I should have asked him directly. That, to me, felt like there was something that was meant to be hidden. Had the response been, yes, this is support Net54 for x, it would have probably changed my outcome and would have changed others - thus the question.

The 2nd PM shouldn't have been sent (nor the first one for that matter). There is nothing covert about this little contest.
I didn't ask to have any email sent out saying to buy a slot and support Net54 (although there is a litte profit being made by both of us). General support isn't what the contest is for. I might need to start checking correspondence going out before it goes out. This game/contest is because a lot of members like them and there is younger/more activity on the board. They are not meant to be something that a member would contribute to, to support Net54baseball. You can donate 5 dollars at a Net54 Dinner to support Net54baseball and all of that goes to the dogs.
I don't play these games personally, never have and probably never will. Hope that clears any questions up. Please let me know if any other PMs get sent (from here on out) as that is not something I would want done. To me that is too invasive.

Down to the final 22 spots. If you are serious about getting in I would act now. Reserve your spot and pay when it fills at the very least. This is gonna be a lot of fun and we should be doing the contest a lot sooner than originally anticipated.

Decided to use this as my first step into pre-war, and let the randomizer decide what I'd start collecting. Looks like another monster has been created. I got the T206 Hulswitt.

Holy Sh*t! I got the big one! Super stoked! Sorry Steve N., Frank L., and Brian P. So close! Watched the Youtube video and fast forwarded to the final 8 or so because I was putting the kids down to bed during the card break! Was stoked to see my name still on the list!

"That's a big boy toy!" "Corn on the Cobb!" Great quotes Stephen! My heart was pumping big-time!

Glad I was at a hockey game and didn’t watch live. That would have stung. Oh well.

Guys thanks again for doing raffles like these! It's awesome that Stephen has so much enthusiasm for the hobby and keeps introducing new ideas and keeps it refreshing. Can't wait for the next one!

Thanks Stephen (and Leon) for setting it up. It was very exciting drawing. I can only imagine how the last guys standing were feeling watching there names getting pulled. Congrats Derek!

Even though I wasn't one of the last guys standing, I still watched till the end. It was a fun evening.

Thanks for putting this together.
