Default More no hitter trivia

Here's another no-hitter trivia question that I came across the answer to when checking my guesses for the question about pitchers with 3 or more no hitters.

Who are the 12 pitchers with 300 or more wins that never threw a no-hitter?

The deadball era alone produced Pud Galvin, Old Hoss Radbourn, Cy Young, Walter Johnson, and Christy Mathewson and probably others.

All the pitchers you listed are credited with at least 1 no-hitter.

Steve Carlton, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Don Sutton.

That's 4 of the 12.

I don’t recall Lefty Grove or Grover Cleveland Alexander throwing no hitters, just a couple of guesses.

You're on a roll with 2 more correct. Just 5 left.

I’m pretty sure Phil Niekro threw one. The only other guy I can think of is Eddie Plank. Did he throw one?

Niekro threw one but Eddie Plank did not. That's 8, but unfortunately, it looks like my original source for the answer was wrong and there are actually 12 pitchers with 300 wins and no no-hitters so there are still 4 left. Sorry about that.

Here are the 8 answers found so far:
Grover Cleveland Alexander
Greg Maddux
Steve Carlton
Eddie Plank
Don Sutton
Tom Glavine
Lefty Grove
Early Wynn

Sorry, misread the question. How about Kid Nicholas and Tom Glavine?

Glavine was already given as a correct answer, but Kid Nichols is right. 3 to go.

Clemens, Keefe and Welch are the last 3 answers. Clarkson had a no-hitter.

Definitely interesting that 12 of the 24 pitchers with 300 or more wins never had a no-hitter.
