Default Card Collectors Bulletin #5, Mar. 1, 1938

Money is starting to be discussed...quick, run for the doors!!! Mounting and Soaking are ok but don't use glue . Again, thanks to George V for sending these quite some time ago.....

1938 was the tail end of the depression, and I'll bet there were more than a few families who would have been thrilled to find somebody who would pay them a few dollars for a shoebox of baseball cards. Can you imagine the kinds of finds one could make back then?

Interesting read as always.I see T210's referred to as 525.What does the numerical designation mean?

Burdick used different numbers than ACC numbers early on. The US Trade Card Collectors Catalog was written approximately 7 yrs before the the American Card Catalog. And before that publication he did his numbering in these Card Collectors Bulletins. (and before these he had a numbering system when writing the articles for Hobbies Magazine) Those are in our archive section...

thats so neat to see how collectors where going after the same things as we are today and they where set builders. From what i understand even the t206 wagner was worth like $100 back then also its crazy to see how far the hobby has come. thanks leon
